  • Publication number: 20130306148
Abstract: The problem addressed by the present invention is providing a technique for fabricating, by a method simpler than conventional methods, a silicon substrate that is effective for light trapping, one surface of which has a textured structure and the other surface of which has higher reflectivity than the surface having the textured structure. The fabrication method for this semiconductor substrate comprises: a sandblasting step in which a first surface of a silicon substrate in an as-sliced state, fabricated by slicing a silicon ingot, is surface treated by sandblasting and, after the sandblasting step, a step for carrying out surface treatment using an etching solution that contains either or both of hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid on the silicon substrate.

  • Patent number: 7642399
Abstract: The present invention provides a GLAST knockout mouse lacking the function of an endogenous glutamate transporter GLAST gene, which shows: 1) an intraocular pressure within the normal range; and 2) a reduction in the number of cells in the retinal ganglions when compared with a wild-type normal mouse. Owing to the ocular properties, this knockout mouse is useful as a model for normal tension glaucoma. By using this knockout mouse, a compound useful for the treatment of normal tension glaucoma can be screened.

  • Patent number: 7607471
Abstract: In a temperature control device, a plurality of screening cylinders each having a different diameter are concentrically arranged within a liquid tank to concentrically form a plurality of layered channels which are communicated to define a circulation passage through which constant-temperature fluid flows. A heat transfer tube through which liquid chemical flows is disposed in any one of the channels such that heat exchange between the liquid chemical and the constant-temperature fluid is performed via the heat transfer tube for controlling temperatures of the liquid chemical.

  • Publication number: 20050006960
Abstract: A claw-pole type stepping motor comprises: a rotor which is shaped substantially cylindrical, and which has a rotary shaft at its radial center; and two stators which are shaped like a cup, each have at least one magnetic coil, are coupled to each other so as to rotatably house the rotor with their magnetic coils located respectively toward both axial end faces of the rotor, and which each have two pole tooth arrays magnetically connected to each other such that magnetic phase difference therebetween at tips of respective pole teeth is 180 degrees in terms of electrical angle, and in the motor thus structure, three pipes of aluminum go axially through the two stators so as to hold together the two stators.

  • Publication number: 20040237405
Abstract: A process of the gasification of glass fiber reinforced plastics includes feeding a glass fiber reinforced plastic material to a rotatable gasification furnace, heating the material to a temperature of 650 to 750° C. in the presence of oxygen and steam to gasify the plastic component thereof, recovering the remaining glass fibers; introducing the resulting plastic gas into a plastic gas decomposition section, partially oxidizing the plastic gas at a temperature of 700 to 1000° C. in the presence of additional oxygen or an additional mixture of oxygen and steam, and recovering the CO and H2 so produced.

  • Patent number: 5956339
Abstract: An apparatus for selecting a route in a packet-switched network where a plurality of candidate routes are available between a sending node and a receiving node. Total capacity calculation unit disposed in the sending node calculates the total channel capacity of each candidate route by summing up channel capacities of the inter-node links between the sending node and the receiving node. First selection unit chooses the candidate route(s) that exhibit the largest value of the total channel capacity. Uniformity calculation unit is activated when the first selection unit selected a plurality of candidate routes. The uniformity calculation unit calculates uniformity of each candidate route by evaluating the channel capacities of the inter-node links. The second selection unit chooses one of the candidate routes based on the calculated uniformity. This route will be used in packet transmission from the sending node to the receiving node.

  • Patent number: 5702505
Abstract: A method for collecting volatile organic substances from an off-gas containing moisture and volatile organic substances. The organic substances are removed from the gas containing the organic substances and the moisture by introducing the gas into an adsorbing tower filled with the adsorbents and being in the adsorbing process under a relatively low temperature condition. The gas is discharged outside the system as the gas containing the moisture but from which the organic substances have been removed. The organic substances are desorbed under a relatively high temperature condition in the regenerating process for the regeneration. The moisture is removed from the desorbed gas discharged from the adsorbent regenerating process in a dehumidifying tower filled with the moisture absorbent by the temperature swing method or pressure swing method.

  • Patent number: 5695546
Abstract: A method for collecting volatile organic substances from off-gas containing moisture and volatile organic substances. After the moisture has been removed by a dehumidifying tower filled with moisture absorbent for selectively adsorbing the moisture from the gas containing the organic substances and the moisture, the organic substances are adsorbed and removed under a relatively low temperature condition. The organic substances is desorbed under a relatively high temperature condition from the adsorbing tower which is saturated with the organic substances. The desorbed organic substances are liquefied and collected under a low temperature and/or pressurizing condition. The dry gas from which the organic substances have been removed and made harmless is heated if necessary.
