  • Patent number: 9310440
Abstract: A disconnection detecting device that can be applied to a control system of a motor-generator is provided. A disconnection detecting section judges whether logical conjunction (i.e. AND operation) of a condition that both current sensors are operating normally and a condition that the designated torque is equal to or more than a specified torque is true or not. In the event that the disconnection detecting section has determined YES, the disconnection detecting section judges whether the logical conjunction of a condition that the absolute value of the phase current is equal to or less than a specified current (>0) and a condition that the absolute value of the current change rate is equal to or less than a specified value (>0) is true or not. In the event that the disconnection detecting section has determined YES, the disconnection detecting section has determines that the disconnection has occurred.

  • Patent number: 9124208
Abstract: In a vehicle, a control apparatus controls a power converter supplying a rotary machine which can operate as a drive motor of the vehicle, and controls a cooling apparatus for circulating a coolant fluid through the rotary machine and the power converter. When a temporary condition occurs immediately after commencement of the circulation, whereby the temperatures of the coolant fluid and of switching elements in the power converter are judged to concurrently exceed respective specified temperature thresholds, the control apparatus limits the maximum power that can be supplied from the power converter to a lower value than is normally available. When the temperature of the coolant fluid is judged to no longer exceed the corresponding temperature threshold, the limiting is released.

  • Patent number: 9090238
Abstract: An apparatus for diagnosing a temperature detection unit, mounted in a vehicle having a power conversion circuit including a switching element, a control unit configured to operate the switching element to control a torque of a main rotating machine electrically connected to the power conversion circuit to a demanded torque. The temperature detection unit is configured to detect a temperature of the switching element. In the apparatus, a current supply increasing unit is configured to operate the switching element to increase a current supply to the switching element. A permission unit permits the current supply increasing unit to increase the current supply only when a braking torque is being applied to the vehicle. A diagnostic unit determines that an abnormality is present in the temperature detection unit when it is determined that the detection temperature of the temperature detection unit is out of an acceptable range.

  • Patent number: 9000700
Abstract: A MG-ECU is provided in a hybrid vehicle having an MG and an engine and starts the engine by controlling the MG. When the MG-ECU detects a disconnection in any one of three-phase power supply wires, which supply the MG with power, the MG-ECU permits driving of the MG on condition that the engine is requested to be started. The MG-ECU limits a command torque for the MG is limited to be equal to or less than a predetermined torque value than in a case of presence of no disconnection, when the MG is permitted to be driven.
