  • Patent number: 4534517
Abstract: Method of automatic doffing in a spinning unit is disclosed. Automatic doffing apparatus for use in practicing the method includes a bobbin loading device for carrying an empty bobbin to a donning position in the spinning unit, and the loading device has a pushing member which is movable with the loader. As the package is released from a bobbin holder and then supported adjacently to the bobbin holder, the loading device is moved forwardly toward the donning position. On the way to the donning position, the loading device pushes the supported package away from the donning area with its pushing member. The bobbin brought to a donning position is held by the bobbin holder. According to the method, unloading of a package and loading of an empty bobbin is made by a single motion, or advancing, of the bobbin loading device.

  • Patent number: 4489544
Abstract: Yarns are pieced in a spinning machine utilizing an air stream, such as an open-end spinning machine or an air-jet spinning machine. For yarn piecing, an end of a yarn unwound from a bobbin is inserted into a twisting mechanism, and a sliver is newly supplied as a fleece so as to intertwine with the yarn end forming a pieced yarn portion. The thickness of the unwound yarn is detected by a detector and stored in a memory prior to insertion into the twisting mechanism. After the yarn and the sliver have been joined, the thickness of the pieced yarn portion is detected by the detector, and the detected thickness is compared with the stored thickness of the unwound yarn. If the thickness of the pieced yarn portion exceeds an allowable value as a result of such comparison, then the yarn is severed by a cutter, and thereafter a cut end of the yarn is pieced again with the fleece.

  • Patent number: 4487012
Abstract: A method and apparatus for supplying operational fluid to a traveling-type working machine, such as a yarn piecer or an auto-doffer, which serves a parent machine, such as a spinning frame. The working machine utilized in the present invention has a secondary fluid tank and at least one nozzle attached to an air cylinder. Prior to the working machine serving the parent machine, the nozzle is advanced by an air cylinder, operated by fluid supplied from the secondary fluid tank, so that it engages with one of the air intakes provided on the parent machine. Then operational fluid is introduced from a primary fluid source into the working machine through the engaged nozzle and air intake, and thereby the working machine carries out a specific operation for the parent machine. Simultaneously, the operational fluid is distributed to the secondary fluid tank in preparation for the next engagement of the nozzle and the air intake.

  • Patent number: 4483151
Abstract: This invention provides a freezer/refrigerator system which has a compressor driven by an engine of a vehicle to equally supply a refrigerant under pressure to a cooler unit and a freezer/refrigerator unit. An electromagnetic valve is disposed in a refrigerant inlet pipe of the cooler unit, while a constant-pressure expansion valve which is opened at a given pressure corresponding to a proper vaporizing temperature of the refrigerant is disposed at the refrigerant inlet pipe of the freezer/refrigerator unit. A control circuit supplies a control signal to the electromagnetic valve which is opened for 1 minute and closed for 15 seconds. The refrigerant is alternately supplied to the cooler unit and the freezer/refrigerator unit upon opening/closing of the constant-pressure expansion valve in accordance with changes in the pressure of the refrigerant.

  • Patent number: 4338778
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting an erroneously inserted empty bobbin is disposed on a spinning frame which is provided with an automatic doffing and donning apparatus and a conveyor having empty bobbin supporting pegs mounted thereon. The detecting apparatus photoelectrically or electromechanically detects whether or not an empty bobbin is correctly inserted onto the corresponding empty bobbin supporting peg based on the fact that an incorrectly inserted bobbin inclines backwards and projects upwards. When the incorrectly inserted bobbin is detected, an alarm is actuated in order to notify an operator in charge of the spinning frame of the same.

  • Patent number: 4036001
Abstract: A bobbin doffing and donning method in a spinning machine including a conveyor for conveying the empty and full bobbins along the machine, and a succession of bobbin holders for holding and transferring the bobbins between the spindles on the machine and the conveyor. The empty bobbins are removed from the conveyor by grasping the upper end of an empty bobbin by a holder and moving the holder upwardly. The holder is then moved to position the empty bobbin above a corresponding full bobbin on a spindle with the empty bobbin in axial alignment with the full bobbin. The empty bobbin is released from the holder and the lower end abuts against the upper end of the full bobbin. The holder is moved down along the empty bobbin until it reaches the junction between the empty and full bobbins and then grasps both the empty and full bobbins simultaneously.
