  • Patent number: 5553372
Abstract: A method of inserting a pair of connecting portions of an insulation sheet into the slots in a stator core is disclosed. The insulation sheet includes a pair of body portions interconnected at their opposite ends by the connecting portions. The top sheet in a stack of insulation sheets is picked up and manipulated to be disposed in a vertical position. The vertically disposed insulation sheet is then gripped at positions slightly spaced inwardly from the opposite end areas of each body portion. After being gripped, the sheet is moved to a position above the stator core. At the position above the core, the intermediate area of each body portion is bowed to assume a "U" shape whereas the opposite end areas of each body portion are disposed in registry with predetermined slots of the stator core, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5273223
Abstract: A stator coil winding machine for winding a wire around a neck portion of each pole. A spindle through which the wire is inserted is reciprocated in an axial direction thereof. A nozzle is provided at one end of the spindle, and the nozzle is inserted through a slot of a stator core by the axial reciprocation of the spindle. The spindle is reciprocated axially and is reciprocatively rotated at a predetermined angle at opposite ends of the axial reciprocation. Thus, the wire is supplied from the nozzle and is wound around the neck portion. The nozzle is pivotally mounted on the spindle so as to be tiltable in the axial direction of the spindle. In another embodiment, a nozzle swinging device is provided to tilt the nozzle in a direction counter to an advancing direction of the spindle.

  • Patent number: 4826092
Abstract: A coil winding machine has a pair of gripping means respectively disposed above and under an armature held by a collet for gripping lead of wire at the beginning and end of a winding operation. Each gripping means has a gripping assembly whose gripping portion is inclined by two times as large as an inclination angle of its base portion supported by a gripping frame which is rotated reversely.

  • Patent number: 4719948
Abstract: In an apparatus for winding coils for a stator of an electric motor, a guide plate with a plurality of guide steps is disposed movably along a coil former member and is lowered more quickly than the coil former member so that one of the guide steps is located at the border between two adjacent steps of the coil former member. The leading wire can be smoothly led by each guide step without decreasing a winding speed when a winding operation is transferred from a step of the coil former member to an upper step thereof.
