    Abstract: A shoe comprises: an upper 7 wrapping an instep; an outsole 3 contact with a floor or a road; a front roll-up portion 32 formed as the outsole 3 is rolled up upward along a front end portion 71 of the upper 7 and fixed to the upper 7; through hole means running through the front end portion 71 and the front roll-up portion 32; and a clamper 1 running through the through hole means to clamp together the upper 7 and the outsole 3 and keep them clamped therein, thus strengthening a fixing strength between the upper 7 and the outsole 3, wherein the clamper 1 is made of a resin and includes: first flange means engaging with the front roll-up portion 32 on a front surface 31 of the front roll-up portion 32; second flange means engaging with the upper 7 on an inner surface of the front end portion of the upper 7; and pipe means connecting the first and second flange means and running through the through hole means for ventilation between an inside and an outside of the shoe.

    Abstract: An engine starting system for a power train including an engine and an automatic transmission includes an engine stop/restart controller. The automatic transmission having special mode includes first and second planetary gear sets having respective sun gears, a turbine shaft, an output gear, a forward clutch and a 2-4 brake. The forward clutch sets the automatic transmission in a drive condition when engaged and in a neutral condition when disengaged. If the special mode is selected under conditions where the output gear is locked, the sun gear of the first planetary gear set is locked. During execution of automatic engine stop control operation, the engine stop/restart controller causes the automatic transmission to initiate a transfer to the special mode before fuel supply is interrupted and causes the forward clutch to completely engage at a specific point in time after the automatic transmission has completed the transfer to the special mode.

    Abstract: A sorting method and apparatus for sorting steel products such as bars, rods, shapes and tubular products which are delivered in a random manner, according to the ordered lengths, sizes and so forth. The steel products are made to stay on a sorting apparatus temporarily. Then, pieces of products of the same class are successively selected and forwarded to a bundling bed from the sorting apparatus, while the latter receives a new piece of steel products. This operation is repeated for successive classes to sort the steel products into a plurality of classes having different ordered lengths, sizes or other sorting condition. The sorting apparatus has a vertically movable sorting roller table and a sorting truck arranged in a side-by-side relation to the sorting roller table and movable in the direction normal to the direction of movement of the steel products.
