  • Publication number: 20240114217
Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for a media guidance application that facilitates presenting, to a user, media assets that match a search expression by generating for display media asset identifiers corresponding to media assets that are scheduled for transmission to a plurality of users during a specific time interval. The media asset identifiers corresponding to media assets that match the search expression are distinguished from media asset identifiers that correspond to media assets that do not match the search expression. Furthermore, media asset identifiers corresponding to media assets that match the search expression are distinguished from each other based on an attribute of each media asset that matches the search expression.

  • Publication number: 20240080295
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for generating for display a notification to a plurality of users at a position within a display screen to which each user of the plurality of users is paying attention. Specifically, the media guidance application captures lines of sight of users who are paying attention to a display screen, based on which the media guidance application determines line-of-sight regions on the display screen that the users are paying attention to. The media guidance application then determines a display area that is noticeable to the users based on the respective line-of-sight regions on the display screen to display an electronic message.

  • Publication number: 20230171443
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing a video stream along with a slow motion video showing a particular event depicted in the video stream are described herein. The method includes generating a first video stream and generating a second video stream, which is a slow motion video stream, from the first video stream by modifying a playback speed of the first video stream. The method includes monitoring content of the first video stream to identify an event trigger of a predefined set of event triggers. Each event trigger indicates a presence in the first video stream of an event that is to be generated for display using the second video stream. The method includes determining, based on the identifying of the event trigger, to transmit the second video stream along with the first video stream, and simultaneously transmitting both the first video stream and the second video stream.

  • Patent number: 10063911
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed herein for automatically recording and generating for display a catch-up video in a PIP window. If a user viewing a media program on a user equipment is detected to be distracted, the user equipment automatically begins recording the program. When the user is detected to no longer be distracted, the user equipment begins to display the recorded catch-up video in a PIP window. The playback rate of the catch-up video may be faster than the rate of the live video to allow the user to catch up quickly. The playback rate and size of the PIP window may be varied depending on the duration, remaining duration, and content of the catch-up video.
