  • Patent number: 7258473
Abstract: A vehicle lamp can include a first light source located almost at the center of an emission region, and a transparent cover lens arranged to cover the front in the direction of illumination from the first light source. A central reflective portion of the cover lens can be located in front of the first light source to receive light from the first light source and reflect it toward the entire circumference in a direction almost perpendicular to the direction of illumination. A diametrical outer reflective portion can be located at the rim of the cover lens to receive the light from the first light source and reflect it along the direction of illumination for radial emission. The central reflective portion and the outer reflective portion of the cover lens can be integrated with a joint portion of the same material.

  • Publication number: 20050243172
Abstract: A housing device, such as rear view mirror, with built-in camera can include an infrared projection device with an infrared light source for irradiating infrared light onto an image capture region for the camera. The camera can display a sensitivity to visible light and infrared light, and can be built into the mirror housing which is mounted to a vehicle and contains a mirror used for visual checking purposes. The infrared projection device can include a light transmission cover. The cover can be positioned in an infrared irradiation direction of the infrared light source, can be formed from a material that is impenetrable to visible light and transmits only infrared light, and can be attached to the mirror housing in an integral manner.

  • Patent number: 6871990
Abstract: A vehicle lamp can include a primary light source and a visor for preventing the lamp from falling into a state of false illumination due to incident light from light sources other than the primary light source. The lamp can irradiate light toward a predetermined direction. The visor can be provided at a position close to either the light source or a false light source formed by light from the light source. The visor can include a plurality of grooves extending horizontally on one surface thereof, and the grooves can have a V-shaped cross section. An angle made by two sides forming the V-shaped cross section is preferably an acute angle.

  • Patent number: 6846100
Abstract: A lighting fixture is configured such that it comprises at least one light source, a first reflecting surface which reflects light from the light source or sources to change it into parallel light, one intermediate reflecting surface which reflects parallel light from the first reflecting surface toward the second reflecting surface, a second reflecting surface which reflects light reflected by the intermediate reflecting surface forward and one lens provided forwardly of the second reflecting surface and such that the light source is provided outside the lens in relation to the direction of the optical axis.

  • Patent number: 6238073
Abstract: A vehicle signal lighting unit includes a light source, a plain outer lens, and a composite reflecting mirror consisting of a unit reflecting surface which reflects light having desired light distribution characteristics from the light source. The light source emits no direct light in an illuminating direction of the vehicle signal lighting unit, and is positioned to allow incident light against said composite reflecting mirror from at least two directions, and to prevent direct observation of the light source itself through the outer lens. Each unit reflecting surface of said composite reflecting mirror includes reflecting surface which reflects light from the light source from said two directions. Since the light source is provided outside an effective luminescent surface, the light source cannot be observed directly from outside through the plain outer lens. The light source can be mounted on both ends of the lighting unit outside an effective luminescent surface.
