  • Patent number: 4535815
Abstract: A solenoid type flow control valve having a valve body formed with an outlet and inlet ports, a cylindrical core disposed in the valve body between the inlet and outlet ports and formed with a suitable number of valve ports for connecting the inlet port with the outlet port, a valve member slidable along the outer surface of the core to cover the valve ports, a linear motor assembly for moving the valve member to uncover the valve ports, and fluid flow passages formed around the linear motor assembly so that the fluid from the inlet port is introduced through the passages into the valve ports.

  • Patent number: 4346736
Abstract: An electrically operated fluid control valve unit is associated with a moving-coil linear motor which includes the quantity of fluid flow across the tubular core, a permanent magnet for providing magnetic flux through the tubular core, a permanent magnet for providing magnetic flux through the tubular core, a moving-coil wound on the bobbin across the magnetic flux of the magnet to provide a linear force on the bobbin, and a pair of conductive springs connecting the moving-coil to an electric control circuit and biasing the bobbin toward its initial position. Each of the springs is insulated from one another and from the valve housing, the tubular core and the like to prevent from unexpected short of the springs.

  • Patent number: 4307752
Abstract: The solenoid actuated valve device is comprised of a housing of magnetic material having a radially disposed inlet and at least one axially disposed outlet in communication with the interior of a hollow magnetic core disposed within the body. An annular bobbin having a solenoid coil wound thereon is slidably mounted on the core and is normally biased into a position closing at least one elongated radially extending opening through the core. Permanent magnets are secured to the interior of the body in such a manner that the lines of flux intersect the solenoid coil at right angles thereto. Two springs normally bias the bobbin to the closed position and extend between one end of the bobbin and a spring support member disposed adjacent one end of the body.

  • Patent number: 4294286
Abstract: An electromagnetically operable control valve mechanism of linear motor type adapted for vehicle emission control devices, comprising a single common inlet port, two outlet ports, an electric linear motor and a valve member operatively connected to the motor and commonly disposed on two paths connecting the outlet ports with the inlet port. The control valve mechanism alternately communicates the outlet ports with the inlet port in response to and in proportion to an electric current supplied to the motor.

  • Patent number: 4231347
Abstract: A fuel pressure-regulating valve for an electronic fuel injection system for internal combustion engines including a body member having an inlet port and an outlet port, a diaphragm dividing the interior of the body member into two chambers, a piston secured to the diaphragm and having a hollow stem with a fuel passageway therethrough, a valve responsive to the movement of the piston for controlling the communication between the inlet port and outlet port, and a bushing inserted securely in the hollow stem of the piston. Aligned apertures in the hollow stem and the bushing provide communication between the inlet port and the valve, the outer periphery of the bushing adjacent the apertures therein being flattened to provide gaps between the bushing and the hollow stem for preventing reduction of flow through the aligned aperture in case of slight misalignment of the apertures.

  • Patent number: 4216938
Abstract: A solenoid actuated valve device for electrically controlling the flow of fluid in response to electric signals. The valve device comprises a body member defining an internal chamber, a core being made of a magnetic material and comprising a central hollow portion, a bobbin slidably mounted on the core, a solenoid coil wound on the bobbin, a permanent magnet the magnetic flux of which may intersect at right angles to the winding of the solenoid coil, a yoke being made of a magnetic material and forming a magnetic circuit of the core, passages formed on the core, a sliding valve controlling the open area of the passages in response to the movement of the bobbin, and a spring biasing the bobbin so that the sliding valve may close the passages, whereby the flow of fluid may be controlled in proportion to the electric current.

  • Patent number: 4169489
Abstract: A control valve is provided with an inlet and outlet port and a variable flow control arrangement therebetween. The variable flow control arrangement is comprised of a hollow spool member having a plurality of orifices disposed in a spiral manner along the length of the spool and a sleeve having an annular valve member in contact with the spool movable axially of the spool to selectively expose one or more orifices to a valve chamber in communication with the outlet port. The sleeve member is connected to a flexible diaphragm having a first surface exposed to an atmospheric pressure chamber within the control valve and a second surface exposed to a signal vacuum chamber adapted to be connected to a vacuum supply. Spring means are provided in the signal vacuum chamber for normally biasing the sleeve into a position covering all of the orifices in the absence of a vacuum signal within the signal vacuum chamber.
