When an instruction to display a live view image is provided, a live view image is generated from frame images acquired by the burst continuous shooting, and transmitted to a remote control device. In the remote control device, when a shutter operation using a touch sensor or a mechanical shutter operation is performed by an operation section, a photographing request is transmitted to the digital camera. In the digital camera, when this request is accepted, whether a live view image has been transmitted is judged. When it has been transmitted, a frame image serving as a source of the live view image at the timing of the shutter operation is extracted, and stored in a recording medium as a processed image.
