  • Publication number: 20230145700
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for streaming multimedia data is disclosed. The computer-implemented method includes identifying a high importance video segment yet to be streamed to a buffer, determining, based on a current network bandwidth, if the high importance video segment can be streamed at a video quality above a predetermined threshold, responsive to determining, based on the current network bandwidth, that the high importance video segment cannot be streamed at a video resolution above a predetermined threshold, determining if there is a low importance video segment yet to be streamed to the buffer prior to the high importance video segment, and responsive to determining that there is a low importance video segment yet to be streamed to the buffer prior to the high importance video segment, adjusting prefetching of the high importance video segment in order to stream the high importance video segment at the video resolution above the predetermined threshold.

  • Patent number: 10001915
Abstract: Embodiments relate to selecting an object displayed on a display device of a computer. Aspects include moving a movable pointer in the display device in response to a user input, determining whether the pointer is in a predetermined temporary selection state, and based on a determination that the pointer is in the temporary selection state, acquiring an object pointed to by the pointer and storing the object in the storage device as a temporarily selected object. Aspects further include acquiring an second object pointed by the pointer in response to the user performing a predetermined object selection operation, comparing the second object with the temporarily selected object, and based on a determination that the second object is identical to the temporarily selected object, determining that the second object is selected.

  • Patent number: 9858071
Abstract: In a shared change set server, a receiving section receives information on an undetermined change set and information on users sharing the undetermined change set from a terminal device used by a developer who has developed the change set. Subsequently, a shared change set management section prepares a shared change set containing the undetermined change set and information on users sharing the undetermined change set, and stores the shared change set in a shared change set storage section. A transmitting section thereafter transmits information on the shared change set to a terminal device used by a developer sharing the shared change set.

  • Patent number: 9740592
Abstract: The present invention provides for debugging a target program with a computer comprising a storage unit and a processing unit. In one aspect, this comprises: storing, in the storage unit, reliability information including the reliability of individual indices of classification items of the program; reading, by the processing unit, the reliability information of the target program from the storage unit and determining a reliable code area and an unreliable code area by using the reliability of the individual indices in the reliability information; and executing debugging of the debug target program only for the unreliable code area while omitting debugging of the reliable code area. A graphical user interface to support debugging of only unreliable code areas is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9684738
Abstract: Embodiments relate to generating application-processable commands from character strings. An aspect includes preparing a database in which are recorded keywords for presenting commands as conversion candidate objects, conversion candidate objects, and commands generated when a conversion candidate object has been selected. Another aspect includes receiving a plurality of character strings inputted by a user for an application. Another aspect includes converting a character string of the plurality of character strings to generate a completion candidate character string. Another aspect includes referencing the database when the character string includes a keyword, and presenting, to the user, completion candidate character strings and conversion candidate objects as a conversion candidate list. Another aspect includes generating a command corresponding to a selected conversion candidate object in response to selection of one of the conversion candidate objects from the conversion candidate list by the user.

  • Patent number: 9577868
Abstract: Usability is improved by decreasing the number of notifications to be read in receiving mails including notifications of events. A notification of an event is sent. In one aspect, this comprises receiving, in response to occurrence of an event, a notification of the event; storing, when event data generated from the received notification matches a conditional expression in a profile associated with the event, the notification of the event in a queue associated with at least one of change management information corresponding to the event and a recipient of the change management information; and sending, when an earliest time out of transfer times set in respective notifications stored in the queue has come, all the notifications stored in the queue, to a client that is the recipient, as a single notification.

  • Patent number: 9046934
Abstract: A method for controlling movements of a pointer through computer processing, where the pointer is displayed on a display device, includes the steps of: dividing a display area in which the pointer is movable into a predetermined number of regions, acquiring a current position of the pointer, determining in which of the divided regions the pointer is present (hereinafter referred to as a present region), computing a speed scale-factor for the pointer based on an image characteristic in the present region, and setting, as a moving speed in the present region, a normal moving speed of the pointer multiplied by the speed scale-factor.
