  • Patent number: 10035181
Abstract: To provide an apparatus for reclaiming foundry sand and a method for reclaiming foundry sand that can effectively remove binders and so on that attach to returned foundry sand that has been used. Foundry sand that has been used is supplied from a chute for feeding sand 14A to a rotor 16. The rotor 16 is rotated by a driver 20 so that frictional force is generated on the sand in the rotor 16. Then, the sand in the rotor 16 is dropped into the container for washing with water 30 that is located below the rotor 16. In the container for washing with water 30, an agitator 34 is rotated by the driver 20 so that the sand in the container for washing with water 30 is agitated and washed with water.

  • Publication number: 20120014246
Abstract: A path setup method that makes it possible to avoid a failure in path setup even if a state when setting up a path is that a communication device existing in the path is incapable of communication, as well as a communication device using the method, are provided. According to a method for setting up a path through autonomous distributed control in a network in which a plurality of communication devices (NE200 to NE206) are connected, a communication device (NE201) determines whether or not it is possible to communicate with a communication device (NE203) neighboring to the communication device and, if a state is that it is impossible to communicate with the neighboring communication device, converts signaling for setting up a path (P1) passing through the neighboring communication device into signaling for setting a provisional path (P2) detouring around the neighboring communication device.

  • Publication number: 20100165997
Abstract: When switching every path which uses as a relay point a communication device including a removal target resource, to another path having a route not passing through the removal target resource, a maintenance person transmits a removal preparation request specifying the removal target resource to the relay point communication device. Upon receiving the removal preparation request, the communication device detects a path identifier and a start point communication device of each path passing through the removal target resource, and transmits a path switching request specifying the path identifier and the removal target resource, to the start point communication device. Upon receiving the path switching request, the communication device computes a route of another path not passing through the removal target resource and having the same start point and end point as those of the identified path, and after setting the other path having the computed route, disconnects the identified path.

  • Publication number: 20080117827
Abstract: Verification of the connectivity of a logical link can be accomplished even in a network including a plurality of nodes that are connected through data link(s) and a control channel between adjacent nodes. A node that is the start point of a logical link to be verified transmits a logical link verification request message, over a control channel, to a node that is the end point of the logical link to be verified, thereby notifying that a connectivity verification test will begin. Thereafter, the start-point node transmits a physical link verification message (verification data) over the logical link to be verified. When notified through the control channel that the test will begin, the end-point node carries out the connectivity verification test, based on whether or not it can receive the verification data through the logical link to be verified. The end-point node returns a test result message to the start-point node.

  • Patent number: 6712119
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided to process collected sand. This method and apparatus allow the moisture content to be adjusted and the addition of a binder to be facilitated to renew the collected sand as casting sand for future use. Also, defective castings are prevented when they are made by a main mold using the renewed casting sand. The sand-collecting means can be compact. The method is performed and the apparatus is operated by separating a main mold of green sand, after casting is conducted, into parts unaffected and affected by the molten metal heat, adjusting the moisture content of the part unaffected by molten metal heat for use as facing sand in the next main mold making, and adding a binder and adjusting the moisture content of the part affected by the molten metal heat for use as back sand in making the next main mold.

  • Patent number: 6056042
Abstract: Measuring the degree of restoration during the restoring treatment of the used molding sand and comparing the measured degree of restoration to a permissible degree, comprising the following steps: First, the restored sand is photographed to project it as a picture on a monitor. A picture-processing device divides that picture into a certain number of picture parts and the brightness of each picture part is compared to the standard brightness, which is chosen beforehand. The degree of restoration is judged based on the number of picture parts that are lighter or darker than the standard brightness. The restoring treatment is stopped when the result of the comparison shows that the restoration has reached the permissible degree, but is continued when the result does not reach it. The operation of measuring the degree of restoration during the treatment is also repeated until it reaches the permissible degree. Then the treatment is stopped.

  • Patent number: 5507715
Abstract: A device for removing foreign material from sand is disclosed. The device includes a rotary box which is driven such that sand is centrifuged therein. The box includes a circular bottom plate, a circumferential and inclined wall extending from the circular end of the bottom place, upwardly and outwardly, and ring portion which extends inwardly from the top of the inclined wall. A plurality of rollers are disposed in the box, each roller having a movable surface substantially parallel to and spaced apart from the circumferential and inclined wall of the box. Sand in the rotary box is centrifuged and circumferentially deposited on the inclined wall to form a sand layer which becomes progressively thicker and then contact the movable surface, subjecting the sand to shearing and compressive forces. Processed sand then overflows from the ring portion of the rotary box.
