  • Patent number: 6663684
Abstract: Provided are a dust-collecting filter cloth that comprises a base fabric and web, wherein at least the web includes modified cross-section fibers of polyphenylene sulfide; and a bag filter made of the filter cloth. When fitted to an exhaust gas dust collector, the bag filter involves little pressure loss and ensures increased dust-collecting efficiency. As being resistant to heat and ensuring good dust-collecting efficiency, the filter cloth is useful for dust collection.

  • Patent number: 6583072
Abstract: A nonwoven fabric is formed of polyphenylene sulfide fibers impregnated with a synthetic resin by 5 to 50 wt % based on the total weight of the nonwoven fabric, and has stiffness based on the Gurley method specified in JIS L 1096 of 3000 to 10000 mgf, and can be used as a filter medium for collecting hot dust emitted from refuse incinerators, coal boilers, metal melting furnaces, and others.

  • Patent number: 5378537
Abstract: The polyester monofilament of this invention has a terminal carboxyl group concentration of not more than 10 equivalent weights/10.sup.6 g and contains an unaltered carbodiimide compound in an amount in the range of from 0.005 to 1.5% by weight and a fluorine type polymer in an amount in the range of from 0.01 to 30% by weight. The polyester monofilament of this invention has an excellent resistance to hydrolysis and proof against staining. When used under high temperature and high humidity conditions susceptible to hydrolysis and the collection of stains, as when used in a papermaking drier canvas, it brings about a notable effect of prolonging the service life of the canvas and lengthening the cycle of cleaning.

  • Patent number: 5242645
Abstract: A rubber-reinforcing polyester fiber composed of a polyester prepared by using 30 to 150 ppm as antimony of an antimony compound and 5 to 60 ppm as germanium of a germanium compound as the polymerization catalyst. The fiber is characterized in that the terminal carboxyl group content is not larger than 25 eq/ton, diethylene glycol content (DEG) is not larger than 1.3% by weight, the intrinsic viscosity (IV) is at least 0.85, the sum (S) of the intermediate elongation and the dry heat shrinkage is lower than 8%, the product between strength and elongation (T.sqroot.E) is at least (2S+5), and the terminal modulus (TM) is not higher than 40 g/d. The polyester fiber is used as a rubber reinforcement.
