  • Publication number: 20060016290
Abstract: A method of refining scrap silicon using an electron beam includes a step of selectively preparing lumps of n-type scrap silicon containing a specific impurity element as a dopant, a step of crushing the prepared lumps of scrap silicon, a step of placing the crushed silicon into a vacuum vessel, a step of irradiating the crushed silicon which was placed into the vacuum vessel with an electron beam to melt it and vaporize at least a portion of the impurity element, and a step of solidifying the resulting silicon.

  • Publication number: 20050082400
Abstract: In a method of crushing silicon blocks, a silicon block to be crushed is heated and is then forcedly cooled. Subsequently, a crushing member which contains no metal component at least on a surface thereof is made to strike the cooled silicon block to thereby crush the silicon block. Alternatively, two silicon blocks to be crushed are heated and are then forcedly cooled. Subsequently, the cooled silicon blocks are made to strike against each other, whereby the silicon blocks are crushed.

  • Patent number: 6213622
Abstract: There is disclosed herein a new form of stair lighting system and fixtures. A wire way is disposed along the sides of a stairway, and lighting fixtures each preferably with a plurality of light sources are suitably affixed to the riser sections of the stairway on each side of the stairway. Each light fixture preferably is molded as one piece from a suitable plastic and can include preferably three light sources such as LEDs for directing light toward the riser and toward the adjacent stair step. This arrangement is relatively simple and facilitates installation of suitable stairway lighting. Also disclosed is a new form of lighting fixture for use underneath the arm rest of a theater chair for illuminating adjacent stairs and risers.

  • Patent number: 6145996
Abstract: There is disclosed herein several lighting system particularly for theater stairs, aisles, floors and the like which both provide suitable lighting for patrons walking along these areas but without generating light that may be obtrusive to those sitting in seats, viewing a motion picture, or the like. The provide relatively simple lighting systems as compared to the commonly stair edge or nose lighting. One embodiment comprises a strip lighting fixture having a series of lamps adjacent a reflector located underneath the arm rest of a theater chair to illuminate the adjacent steps or aisle. A second embodiment involves small vertical strip lights on each side of the riser of each step of a stair. A third embodiment involves a hand rail having a series of lamps disposed therein or thereon, typically along with a lower clear or translucent lens covering the lamps and associated reflector.

  • Patent number: 6074067
Abstract: A fixing and covering structure for a reflection mirror in which a pair of base bodies each having a curved inner surface are assembled to form a substantially semi-cylindrical reflection surface. The fixing and covering structure includes cover members and fixing elements. Each of the cover member has a shape conforming to the shape of the corresponding end of a semi-cylindrical space defined by the semi-cylindrical reflection surface and a plurality of holes formed dt positions that face the corresponding longitudinal end surface of each of the base bodies. Each of the fixing elements is disposed to penetrate the corresponding hole to fix the cover member to the base body.

  • Patent number: 5930059
Abstract: A reflection mirror includes a reflection mirror body and a photo sensor for luminance measurement. The reflection mirror body has a three-dimensional curved reflection surface that receives light from a light source and reflects the light toward an object to be illuminated. The reflection mirror body also has a through hole in the vicinity of the center of the reflection surface. The center axis of the through hole is substantially parallel to a light path between the refection mirror body and the object but perpendicularly intersects a light path between the light source and the reflection mirror body. The photo sensor is received within the through hole and adapted to measure the luminance of an illuminated surface of the object.

  • Patent number: 5810468
Abstract: There is disclosed herein a step lighting fixture including an extrusion having a single channel for receiving a light directing member which directs light from a single lighting string both upwardly and downwardly with respect to a stair edge or stair nose. This enables the edge of a stair and the riser thereof or next lower step to be readily seen by one either descending or ascending the stair or stairway. The light directing member can include a pair of reflectors for reflecting light upwardly and downwardly. Alternatively, it can include a single reflector for reflecting light upwardly, and another section, either clear, segmented or both clear and segmented, for directing light downwardly.
