  • Patent number: 5916499
Abstract: The bran has been less usable and have not been treated as industrial resources. The present invention is a method for producing a porous carbon material product and a hard porous carbon material product which have wide variety of functionalities utilizing such bran which is burned and carbonized stably. The method according to the present invention comprises of the steps of kneading bran with a thermosetting resin and an adequate amount of a solution including an adhesive paste or water, the bran is such as rice bran or wheat bran adjusted grain size; granulating the bran kneaded to predetermined grain size or less; molding the bran granulated in a metal mold by pressurizing and degassing to be a mold; burning and carbonizing the mold detached from the metal mold by heating to desired final burning temperature at a predetermined rate under inactive gas atmosphere or under vacuum; and cooling the mold from the final burning temperature to normal temperature at a predetermined rate.

  • Patent number: 5183315
Abstract: An infant restraining chair for installation in a corner or other compact area of a bathroom, for restraining an infant while the infant's guardian makes use of bathroom facilities. A chair supporting and surrounding a substantial portion of an infant's body is mounted on top of a column having a cross-section of a generally triangular shape. Arcuate seat belt portions of substantially rigid construction are maintained in a body of the chair normally in a position retracted into the chair, but are selectably extendable out of the chair body to encircle and restrain an infant seated in the chair. A retraction arrangement utilizes force from gravity constantly to bias the seat belt portions into a retracted position. A mechanical locking arrangement may be provided for locking the seat belt portions in a restraining position.

  • Patent number: 5104180
Abstract: A folding and locking mechanism for a folding baby chair, the mechanism locks the chair in an assembled and folded condition and is unlocked from either condition by the same simple manual operation. A bracket pivotally connected between a rear leg and a support arm locks in two respective positions on a retainer pin which rides on the bracket periphery and is received by a pair of retainer recesses, one for the assembled condition and one for the folded condition. The retainer pin is held by a locking lever that pivots and moves up and down in a holder frame within the support arm. Movement of the lever upward by a simple manual action urges the retainer pin away from the bracket, allowing the bracket to rotate to thereby fold or assemble the chair. A descending operating plate holds the upwardly urged locking lever in the up position until the bracket begins to rotate.
