Abstract: There is provided an information processing apparatus including a setting unit that sets a search character string, a searching unit that searches information including the set search character string, and a determining unit that extracts a co-occurrence character string candidate group other than partial character strings appearing as only a part of other partial character strings, among all partial character strings appearing in a plurality of pieces of the information obtained as a search result, and determines a co-occurrence character string from the co-occurrence character string candidate group, on the basis of the extracted co-occurrence character string candidate group and kinds of characters used in characters before and after the co-occurrence character string candidate group.

Abstract: An attribute weight adjustment engine adjusts a weight of a user in accordance with a record of an identified member ID out of records of an attribute weight adjustment database. The weight adjustment is performed through the multiple regression analysis based on a target similarity resulting from the record of the attribute weight adjustment database and a similarity of each attribute of the attribute weight adjustment database. The resulting weight is identified as the weight of each attribute of the identified user. To account for the weight of each attribute of the user, an attribute weight database is updated, and an unwanted record is deleted from the attribute weight adjustment database.

Abstract: An item recommendation system includes: a feedback receiving unit receiving feedbacks with respect to items by users; a feedback history storage unit storing information of feedbacks received at present or in the past by the feedback receiving unit in units of combinations of users and items; a relevance calculation unit calculating relevance between items base on first information indicating the degree in which the same user gives feedbacks to respective items and second information indicating the degree in which many users give feedbacks by using feedback information stored by the feedback history storage unit when receiving the feedback by the feedback receiving unit; and a recommendation unit immediately recommending items having higher relevance with respect to the item to the user who has given the feedback to the item by the feedback receiving unit based on the relevance calculated by the relevance calculation unit.

An analysis is then done on the image to determine a substance in the image. The analysis also considers caloric intake and exercise data and compares the same with a health management model to arrive at a recommendation for a user who consumed the meal. Various optional features include using wireless communications to receive exercise data from sensors, as well as communication related images such as the menu of a restaurant or the location of the restaurant.
