  • Publication number: 20100147292
Abstract: A mouthpiece (150A) has an aerosol lead-out flow passage (104), an aerosol lead-out opening (105), and an exhalation discharge opening (106). The lead-out flow passage (104) includes a first flow passage (104A) extending upward, a second flow passage (104B) extending obliquely forward from the first flow passage (104A), and a corner flow passage (104C) for connecting the first flow passage (104A) and second flow passage (104B) of the lead-out flow passage (104). The mouthpiece (150A) has a curvature portion (153) formed by curving that portion of the first flow passage (104A) wall surface which crosses the center line of the first flow passage (104A). The exhalation discharge opening (106) is provided in a wall surface defining the second flow passage (104B), at a position circumferentially displaced from the wall surface portion at which the curvature portion (153) is provided.

  • Publication number: 20100121216
Abstract: A bioelectrical impedance measurement abdomen attachment unit includes an electrode support for supporting an electrode and a long belt to be wrapped around an abdomen of a subject. The electrode support includes a fixing portion fixed with one end of the belt in a relatively immovable manner with respect to the electrode support, and a holder for holding a portion closer to another end of the belt in a relatively movable manner with respect to the electrode support. The holder includes an attachment portion removably attachable to an arbitrary position of the portion closer to the other end of the belt and a biasing portion for coupling the attachment portion and the electrode support and biasing the attachment portion and the electrode support in an approaching direction.

  • Publication number: 20100081962
Abstract: A visceral fat measurement device includes a first electrode pair and a second electrode pair to be arranged in a body axis direction at a back surface of an abdomen of a subject; a current generation unit for flowing current between electrodes of the first electrode pair; a potential difference detection unit for detecting a potential difference between electrodes of the second electrode pair current is flowed between the electrodes of the first electrode pair; and a visceral fat mass calculation part for calculating visceral fat mass of the subject based on the detected potential difference between the electrodes of the second electrode pair.

  • Publication number: 20090050138
Abstract: A mouthpiece (160) has a concave portion (161A) provided in a wall surface defining a flow path, and the concave portion (161A) is formed to have a curved surface that is curved only in one direction when seen from the above. The concave portion (161A) is provided with slit-like communication holes (162), and a valve body (170) is fixed by a fixing member (180) to the mouthpiece (160) at a generally central portion of the concave portion (161A) in the direction in which the concave portion (161A) is curved, so as to close the communication holes (162). With this structure, even if the valve body deteriorates over time due to long-term use, or the valve body deforms due to long-term use or cleaning and disinfection, its function as an exhalation valve is less likely to be impaired, and as a result, an inhaler capable of preventing leakage of aerosol can be provided.

  • Publication number: 20080083409
Abstract: An inhaler has a cap body (150) for defining a flow path (101) through which an airflow moves and having, formed in it, first and second air inhalation openings (152a, 152b) for introducing outside air into the flow path (101) from the outside of a nebulizer (100A); an air inhalation valve (140) for opening and closing the first air inhalation opening (152a) by using the difference in pressure between the flow path (101) and the outside of the nebulizer (100A); and a shielding section (132) capable of selectively shielding either of the first and second air inhalation openings (152a, 152b).

  • Patent number: 7212659
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring biological data such as blood pressure of a user has a pulse detector for simultaneously obtaining fingerprint data and a first signal from the user's body such as a pulse wave signal. The fingerprint data are used to check if the user is a registered user. After the user's biological data such as pulse waves are measured and a second signal is obtained from the user, the first and second signals are compared to check if this is the same user from whom the fingerprint data were taken in order to prevent the apparatus from being used by a wrong person. Comparison may be made between the first signal and a pattern of pulse waves extracted from earlier obtained pulse waves stored in a memory. Similar components may be used for an exercising machine to prevent it from being used by a person not preliminarily registered or a person different from the one who passed the fingerprint test on the machine.

  • Patent number: 6619562
Abstract: There is provided an ultrasonic atomizer having a start/stop switch and when the switch is turned on (ST1) an oscillation frequency generation unit and an air feeding motor are operated (ST2), an air volume dial is checked and a decision is made as to whether the current mode is a continuous mode or a timer mode (ST3, ST7). If it is the continuous mode a state of operation is displayed by dynamically moving a segment on a display and periodically ringing a buzzer to notify the user accordingly (ST4, ST5). The start/stop switch is turned off, an oscillation unit is stopped and an oscillator is turned off (ST10, ST11), and the air feeding motor is also stopped (ST12). If this state is provided in the continuous mode then an inactive state is indicated by static characters “00” (ST14). This ensures that the user can determine whether the ultrasonic atomizer in the continuous mode currently has the active state or the inactive state.

  • Publication number: 20030092976
Abstract: An interactive medical diagnostic device includes control, display, input and memory devices. Dosage data related to administration of medicaments given to a patient and physiological values obtained by measurement from the patient are stored, and an interactive medical examination is carried out by outputting questions to and receiving answers from the patient. These data are compared and propriety of the current treatment of the patient is determined and outputted. Either data on prescribed dosage or those on actually administered dosage may be used by the control device. During the interactive medical examination, the patient may be allowed to review the earlier posed questions and supplied responses. The answers may be given not only in terms of “yes” and “no” but also as “neither.
