  • Publication number: 20020015115
Abstract: A light source, a color separator, a plurality of liquid crystal panels, a polarizing plate, a color synthesizing optical unit, and a projecting lens are disposed. The color synthesizing optical unit includes an x prism, a bonding base, a panel retaining member, and a panel installing member. The panel retaining member is fixed on the bonding base. The liquid crystal panels and the polarizing plate are installed on the panel installing member. The panel installing member can be separated from the panel retaining member. By this configuration, deviation of the convergence can be prevented with respect to the liquid crystal panels. Further, in practical use, it is easy to replace or repair the liquid crystal panel or the polarizing plate.

  • Patent number: 6283614
Abstract: In a liquid crystal projection apparatus having a plurality of lamps, and a plurality of cooling means for cooling the plurality of lamps individually, the lamp includes the following: a cup-shaped reflecting mirror 41 having an air discharge hole 41A, an insulator 50 having an air suction hole 50A, a front glass 42, a light emitting tube 40, and air passages (a) to (c) in the lamp for cooling the light emitting tube. The cooling means 12 sucks in hot air from the lamp, and exhausts the hot air toward the louver of the case. Thus, the lamps and the liquid crystal projection apparatus are cooled effectively.

  • Patent number: 5993008
Abstract: A front liquid crystal display projector includes a housing having an exhaust port and a projection opening, an optical block, installed in the housing, having a light source, a reflection mirror, a light separator, an image display unit using liquid crystal, an image combining unit, a projection lens, and an exhaust fan installed between the light source and the exhaust port. The reflection mirror changes the direction of the light from the light source, and the projection lens and the light source are disposed parallel to each other. The exhaust port and the projection opening are provided at a first side of the housing. An image formed by the optical block is projected from the first side and from the projection opening, and air in the housing is discharged from the exhaust port and also from the first side. In addition, the exhaust port prevents stray light from the light source, which exits the exhaust port, from overlapping the image projected from the projection opening.

  • Patent number: 5898521
Abstract: Light from a light source is divided into P-and S-polarized beams by means of a polarizing beam splitter and converted into the same polarized wave. Two polarized waves are incident on a liquid crystal panel symmetrically at the same angle on right and left sides. An integrator comprising two lens arrays is disposed before and behind these polarization converting elements, and therefore brightness can be uniformly increased with a simple construction while achieving space saving.

  • Patent number: 4479618
Abstract: A tape cassette adapter which is useful for a tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus such as a video tape recorder and draws a tape out of a compact cassette by the movement of a tape drawing mechanism from an inoperative position to an operative position. The tape cassette adapter comprises an engaging member which engages to rotate synchronously with a take-up reel drive shaft of the standard size magnetic tape cassette apparatus, a take-up reel drive mechanism for rotating the take-up reel of the compact cassette, and a joint mechanism of rotational power transmission between the rotational member and the take-up reel drive mechanism. Consequently the tape cassette adapter is able to be mounted on apparatuses smoothly, even if the position of the take-up reel drive shaft deviates from a standard position.
