  • Publication number: 20170297007
Abstract: Provided is a honeycomb catalyst in which a plurality of through holes are provided in proximity to each other in a row arrangement in the lengthwise direction, and are set apart by partitions. A honeycomb unit contains at least two types of inorganic particles and an inorganic binder. The inorganic particles contain zeolite having an SiO2/Al2O3 composition ratio of less than 15 and a CHA structure and an oxide other than zeolite, which has a positive thermal expansion coefficient. The ratio (X:Y) of the volume (X) of zeolite and the volume (Y) of oxide is 50:50 to 80:20. A displacement amount of absorbed water is reduced and cracking is controlled while maintaining high NOx purging performance.

  • Publication number: 20150065336
Abstract: A honeycomb catalyst includes a honeycomb unit. The honeycomb unit has a plurality of through holes that are arranged in parallel in a longitudinal direction and partitions that are provided between the plurality of through holes. The honeycomb unit includes a first zeolite, a second zeolite, and an inorganic binder. The first zeolite includes a CHA-structured aluminosilicate having a Si/Al ratio of about 15 to about 50. The second zeolite includes a silicoaluminophosphate having a Si/(Si+Al+P) ratio of about 0.1 to about 0.25. A volume ratio of the first zeolite to the second zeolite is about 75:about 25 to about 90:about 10.

  • Patent number: 8615876
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a honeycomb structural body having a honeycomb unit includes obtaining a honeycomb molded body including a compound containing a phosphate group zeolite and an inorganic binder. The honeycomb molded body has a plurality of through holes that are defined by cell walls and arranged in a longitudinal direction of the honeycomb molded body. The honeycomb molded body is dried. The dried honeycomb molded body is fired to obtain the honeycomb unit. At least one of the honeycomb unit and the dried honeycomb molded body is stored so that a difference in moisture content is approximately 5 mass % or less between a moisture content of the cell walls at a center part of a cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and a moisture content of the cell walls at an outer periphery part of the cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.

  • Publication number: 20120097327
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a honeycomb structure including a plurality of honeycomb units includes preparing honeycomb units each containing first inorganic particles. Each of the honeycomb units has at least one joining surface. At least a part of the at least one joining surface of each of the honeycomb units is impregnated with water. An adhesive layer paste containing second inorganic particles, a binder, and water is prepared. The first inorganic particles have a specific surface area of approximately 50 m2/g or more. The adhesive layer paste is applied on the at least one joining surface of at least one of the honeycomb units to join the honeycomb units to each other. The adhesive layer paste is dried, degassed and solidified to form an adhesive layer and to remove the water.
