  • Patent number: 4526080
Abstract: An automatic rhythm performing apparatus capable of simultaneously producing a plurality of rhythmic tones having the optimum volume relationship irrespective of the total volume of the rhythmic tones. A plurality of rhythmic tone signal generating devices generate a plurality of rhythmic tone signals corresponding respectively to a plurality of rhythmic musical instruments. A combining device combines the rhythmic tone signals to provide a combined output signal as an output of this apparatus, the level of which can be varied by a signal level varying device. There are provided a detecting device for detecting the level of the combined output signal and a controlling device for separately controlling respective signal levels of the rhythmic tone signals in accordance with the detected level of the combined output signal, thereby making the volume relationship of the plurality of the rhythmic tones optimum.

  • Patent number: 4454797
Abstract: An apparatus performs automatically a music based on the note data read out from the memory in which are stored a plurality of note data which constitutes a music composition in the form of a paired combination of pitch data and duration data. A starting position in progression of the music composition is designated, and the position in the music composition corresponding to the designated position is searched to start the performance at the designated position.

  • Patent number: 4384506
Abstract: An electronic musical instrument of a polyphonic type comprises, first tone generating means capable of producing, in a first musical tone property, a plurality of musical tones respectively corresponding to a plurality of depressed keys, and further comprises second tone generating means capable of producing, in a second musical tone property, a musical tone corresponding to a specific key selected from said depressed keys in accordance with a predetermined standard of selection. The first musical tone property is set to be suitable for ensemble performance, whereas the second musical tone property is set to be suitable for solo performance. Among the musical tones produced by the first tone generating means, the one corresponding to the specific key is made less prominent than the ones corresponding to the other depressed keys.

  • Patent number: 4336735
Abstract: A three-keyboard electronic musical instrument of the type generating binary-coded primary key data representative of notes played on the keyboards, and secondary key data representative of unplayed notes that are correlated with the played notes in some musically favorable way. Prior to introduction into a multi-channel tone generator circuit, part of the primary key data and all of the secondary key data are directed into a key data memory having storage channels corresponding in number to the sounding channels in the tone generator circuit available for such data. A discrimination data memory has a plurality of storage locations, corresponding to the storage channels of the key data memory, for storing binary-coded data representing the discrimination between the primary and the secondary key data stored on the corresponding storage channels of the key data memory.

  • Patent number: 4328732
Abstract: A polyphonic, keyboard-type electronic musical instrument capable of automatic production, in response to key depressions on upper and lower keyboards, of "fill notes" which bear the same note names as the depressed lower keys but which, preferably, fall within an octave below the lowest pressed upper key at every moment. The instrument is of the type wherein each depressed key is coded into key data in accordance with a binary "key code" composed of a note code and an octave code. The note code identifies the note name of each key, whereas the octave code identifies the octave to which the key belongs. Upon depression of a key on each of the upper and lower keyboards, the note-coded data derived from the key date representative of the depressed lower key are combined with the octave-coded data derived from the key data representative of the depressed upper key if the note name of the depressed lower key is below that of the depressed upper key.

  • Patent number: 4132139
Abstract: A rhythm selection switch arrangement mounted on the operation panel of an electronic musical instrument. The switch arrangement comprises a plurality of on-off push changeover switches arranged successively and a changeover push switch disposed adjacent to the two-position push switch nearest to the player of the electronic musical instrument. The two-position push switches are to select a rhythm, and the push switch is to control the standard or variation mode of the selected rhythm.

  • Patent number: 4109208
Abstract: In a waveform producing system for use in, for example, an electronic musical instrument, a tone generator circuit and/or a tone control circuit including tone keyer circuits, each or either one of said tone generator circuit and said tone control circuit comprises: pulse generators associated with key-actuated switches, respectively; waveform memorizing means having at least one row of voltage dividers of which the division ratios are preset in characteristics corresponding to either the tone waveforms, the tone envelopes or the depression speeds of the key operated by the player of the instrument; sequential memory read-out means connected to the respective voltage dividers; and pulse generators thereby providing an enabling signal sequentially to the individual dividers every time a pulse is inputted from the pulse generators to read-out the memorized waveform in the form of a modified audio signal at the output side of the circuit.
