  • Patent number: 10029635
Abstract: At a front bumper, a supporting member is mounted to a bent portion of a bumper RF, and the supporting member extends-out toward a vehicle transverse direction outer side from the bumper RF. Therefore, when a pressure tube is pressed at a time of a collision of a collision body with a vehicle corner portion, reaction force is applied from the supporting member to the pressure tube, and the pressure tube deforms. Due thereto, a collision with a collision body can be detected. Here, when load of a predetermined value or greater is inputted to the supporting member from a rear side, the supporting member separates from the bumper RF. Therefore, in a damage test, when the supporting member interferes with a sub-radiator that is at a vehicle rear side of the supporting member, the supporting member can be made to separate from the bumper RF.

  • Patent number: 9090184
Abstract: A vehicle headrest device capable of both securing the comfort of an occupant under normal conditions and enhancing the whiplash injury prevention effect, while enabling the headrest body to be made thinner. In this device, a dilatant pad formed from a material with dilatant characteristics is disposed at a front portion of a headrest body. The pad is soft in normal circumstances, and so the occupant's head can be softly supported by the headrest body. However, the pad instantly becomes hard when load from the occupant's head is imparted to the front portion of the headrest body such as during an impact to the rear face of a vehicle, suppressing rearward head movement. Moreover, a thinner headrest body can be achieved due to being able to dispense with a foam body disposed at the front portion of the headrest body to secure the comfort of the occupant.

  • Patent number: 9085279
Abstract: At a side airbag, integrally provided are a waist portion protecting bag portion that is expanded between a waist portion of a seated passenger and a vehicle body side portion, and a chest portion/shoulder portion protecting bag portion that is expanded between a chest portion and shoulder portion of the seated passenger and a vehicle body side portion. A non-inflating portion, to which gas is not supplied, is provided so as to extend from a peripheral edge portion of a vehicle front side of the side airbag to outer peripheral portions of the waist portion protecting bag portion and the chest portion protecting bag portion, so that a front side upper end portion of the waist portion protecting bag portion at a time of expansion is positioned at a lower side of a lap side webbing that restrains the waist portion of the seated passenger.

  • Patent number: 8864196
Abstract: A pedestrian collision detection device is obtained that is capable of improving pedestrian detection performance in the vicinity of a bumper corner portion. A pedestrian collision detection device includes a chamber member disposed with pressure detectors, and an ECU is connected to the pressure detectors. Terminal portions of the chamber member are wrapped around so as to cover vehicle width direction outside end faces of bumper reinforcement at bumper corner portion sides. When a load of a specific value or greater is input to the terminal portions of the chamber member from a bumper cover side during a collision, the terminal portions obtain a reactive force from the bumper reinforcement and undergo compression deformation towards the vehicle width direction inside, and the pressure inside a pressure chamber of the chamber member changes.

  • Patent number: 8752861
Abstract: A fixing structure of a rear side airbag device for a vehicle may assure a margin of time for the side airbag to be deployed. In a vehicle rear side airbag device fixing structure, an airbag module is fixed by fastening to a child seat fixing member conforming to ISOFix standards, via a metal plate. The child seat fixing member is fixed to the rear floor of a vehicle body at the downward side of a rear seatback. Therefore, in comparison with a structure in which an airbag module is fixed to a rear wheel housing via a bracket, the airbag module may be disposed to the vehicle width direction inner side. Moreover, the child seat fixing member exhibits a high rigidness with respect to a side collision of the vehicle. Therefore, fixing portions of the airbag module are resistant to being deformed during a side collision of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 8651518
Abstract: A side airbag may be smoothly deployed when there is a side collision, and damage to the side airbag at edges of a module case is prevented or suppressed. A recess portion is formed in a seat frame made of resin, and an airbag module is accommodated in the recess portion. The airbag module is provided with a module case in a substantial box shape. An upper side gap is formed between an upper wall portion and an upper end of a side airbag, and a lower side gap is formed between a lower wall portion and a lower end of the side airbag. A length of the upper wall portion is set shorter than a length of an upper wall portion of the recess portion. As a result, the side airbag is less likely to come into contact with the upper wall portion of the module case.

  • Patent number: 8646562
Abstract: A seat for a vehicle in which, when the vehicle has a side collision, pressing against a side support portion of a seat cushion by a vehicle body side portion and deformation of the side support portion to the upper side may be suppressed, and in which excellent seating comfort of the seat cushion may be maintained. At a rear seat, when a door trim (32) of a rear side door (30) collides with a side support portion (16A) due to an impact load F of a side collision, a dilatant member (46) provided at the side support portion (16A) hardens instantly. As a result, deformation of the side support portion (16A) is suppressed, and deformation of the side support portion (16A) to the upper side may be suppressed. Therefore, a waist area chamber (28B) of a rear side airbag (28) may be caused to deploy between the waist area of a seat occupant (14) and the door trim (32) as intended.

  • Patent number: 8505967
Abstract: At a time of deployment of an airbag, a rear portion of the airbag and a tension imparting member are prevented from hooking on an upper end of a quarter pillar garnish and impeding deployment of the airbag. An airbag (20) is contained along a door opening (46). An upper expansion portion (20D) is formed on an upper edge side of a rear seat expansion portion (20B), and a rear expansion portion (20E) is formed at a rear end side upper portion. The upper expansion portion is expanded and deployed at the compartment outer side of a terminal part (34A). A rear end side attachment portion (20E) is set at the rear end side of the rear expansion portion (20E), and the rear expansion portion expands inside a quarter pillar garnish (48). A rear end lower portion of the rear seat expansion portion is coupled to the vehicle body by a rear side strap (68).

  • Publication number: 20130200599
Abstract: Until deployment of a side airbag is complete, the side airbag pitches in the seatback height direction and the deployment action is unstable. In such a case, even if the tip edge of the upper wall portion of a module case is spaced apart from the surface of the deployed shape of the side airbag, the side airbag may swing round to the outer side of the tip edge of the upper wall portion.
