  • Patent number: 6661933
Abstract: When an image is to be filed in the storage means 105, an original copy size detection means 102b identifies the type (size and lay) of the original copy. A first positioning means 11a puts up a plurality of possible places on the printing paper to write the ID mark in, the plurality of possible places given a priority number. A space checking means 6 checks the possible space which comes up for checking according to priority numerical order and notifies the first positioning means 11a of the results. A pattern synthesizing means 108 integrates an ID mark corresponding to the document ID in the space found to be blank by the space checking means 6, generating an image representing the marked sheet.

  • Patent number: 6656879
Abstract: A method of reversible selective manifestation of different states of a functional element is disclosed. The functional element is composed of at least two compounds and is capable of alternatively assuming (a) a first state in which the two compounds interact to form a regular aggregate structure, or (b) a second state in which the two compounds do not interact, and at least one of the two compounds is in an aggregate or crystallized state. The respective conditions for attaining one of the two states can be reversibly and extremely speedily controlled, for instance, by use of a heat application device.

  • Patent number: 6636649
Abstract: It is possible for the present invention to carry out the inclination correcting by adding a simple constitution of shifting an image only in the main-scanning direction to that of the conventional image processing apparatus. The first line shifting means 65 shifts the image data in the main scanning direction by specific number of lines in the shifting amount corresponding to the inclined angle detected by the inclined angle detecting means 66. The first rotating means 85 rotates the image data stored in the first image memory 88 by 90 degree or 270 degree, and then interchanges the main-scanning direction and the sub-scanning direction. The second line shifting means 91 shifts the image data rotated by the first rotating means 85 in the main-scanning direction.

  • Patent number: 6604218
Abstract: A data encoding apparatus is provided wherein, in one aspect, bit data are encoded by using at least one kind of error-correcting code out of two kinds of error-correcting modes—random error-correcting code mode and burst error correcting code mode. The encoded bit data are then arranged in a specific two-dimensional region in a matrix to form a two-dimensional image, which is then printed on a medium. The encoded bit data may be relocated in accord with a relocation map.

  • Publication number: 20030142352
Abstract: A printing system that allows printing of a print object stored in a device (a print data supply device) other than a print control device for issuing a print instruction is provided. For that purpose, the printing system of the present invention includes a controller (11), an HDD unit (12) and a printer unit (13). The HDD unit (12) holds a print object to be printed. The controller (11) issues a print command to the printer unit (13) for acquiring the print object stored in the HDD unit (12) for printing. The printer unit (13), by requesting the HDD unit (12) to transmit the print object according to the parameters specified by the print command, acquires the print object stored in the HDD unit (12) and prints the acquired print object.

  • Patent number: 6559972
Abstract: An image data processing apparatus for storing a multi-valued image data inputted from an image scanner as a plural image data of various resolutions and applying them for tasks, such as printing and displaying. After the conversion by the resolution converting device to a multi-valued image of low resolution, the data is binarized by the binarization circuit and stored after the encoding by the encoding circuit. Meanwhile the encoded data is decoded as the binary data by the decoding circuit and then inputted to a display screen. The image scanner includes the first gradation converting device for converting the intermediate density area of the image data to a specific high or low density. Therefore, it is possible to increase the compression rate at the time of the encoding of the display image data.

  • Publication number: 20030002056
Abstract: A print image expansion section 209 creates print image data from XML source and font data, and outputs this print image data to an output switching section 210. The print image expansion section 209 also outputs size information for the created print image data to a conversion ratio calculation section 214. The conversion ratio calculation section 214 calculates a conversion ratio indicating the size ratio for converting print image data to preview data based on preview screen information and printing condition information, and outputs this conversion ratio to an image conversion section 211. The image conversion section 211 converts the print image data to preview data, and outputs this preview data to an interface section 201 via a buffer 212. The conversion ratio calculated by the conversion ratio calculation section 214 is used as the ratio for converting the print image data to preview data.

  • Patent number: 6473203
Abstract: An image information processor has an image superimposing and outputting means for printing out a superimposed image where a bar code representative of a storage location of an electronic document file received through a facsimile is superimposed on the first page of the electronic document file. When a necessary electronic document file is read out, the bar code is read from the printed output corresponding to the necessary electronic document file being set by the user, the storage location of the electronic document file is decrypted from the bar code to thereby identify and read out the electronic document file. In this case, the reading of the bar code is performed only when a permitted password is inputted by the user. The readout of the electronic document file is not performed otherwise.

  • Publication number: 20010029513
Abstract: The present invention relates to a digital integrated apparatus and document processing system for obtaining documentary image furnished with document ID mark at the same time with registration of documentary image. Document ID is generated when documentary image data is stored in storing means. This document ID is encoded by document ID encoding means to obtain document ID mark. The obtained document ID mark is input in pattern synthesizing means and, simultaneously as said storage, attached to specific documentary image and then output from output means such as laser printer, etc. The document can be taken out by utilizing this documentary image with document ID mark, and can also be transmitted by facsimile. Moreover, by transmitting a documentary image with document ID mark to a digital integrated apparatus from a facsimile system in a distant place, it is possible to take out the documentary image corresponding to that document ID mark.

  • Patent number: 6278513
Abstract: A digital copier includes an image reading part and a printing part. The image reading part includes reading means for electrically scanning lines of image information of a document in a primary scanning direction at a predetermined cycle to output image signals for the lines; secondary scanning means for mechanically moving a primary scanning position with respect to the document at a constant secondary scanning speed V in a secondary scanning direction perpendicular to the primary scanning direction; and line thinning means for thinning out lines for the image signals to 1/N where N is an integer. The printing part prints an image on a printing medium based on the image signals supplied from the image reading part. The lines of image information of the document are copied at an arbitrary zoom ratio in the secondary scanning direction by combining a value of the integer N and a value of the secondary scanning speed V.

  • Patent number: 5999766
Abstract: An image processing apparatus for storing and reading out image data. An authorization code inputting element reads in an authorization code from an authorization medium on which a particular authorization code is recorded and a user identification inputting element inputs user identification information including the individual user authorization number issued at the time of the user being registered. A user control element controls the users by the authorization code and the user identification information, and a function-limiting element limits the scope of functions that can be used by the user in case the user can not be identified by the inputted authorization code or the inputted user identification information. Thus, the storing of image data by an unidentified user can be blocked, and the confidentiality of stored imaged data can be secured.
