  • Patent number: 10046939
Abstract: A sheet process apparatus images a code printed on a fed sheet, and a control unit acquires image data of the imaged code, reads information of the code from the image data, measures a real position of the code from the image data, retrieves position information corresponding to the read information of the code, calculates an amount of deviation between the measured real position of the code and a reference position, corrects the position information on the basis of the amount of the calculated deviation so as to determine a target position, and outputs the target position. The apparatus and corresponding method do not need the sheet to have a wide space for printing both a cut mark and the code, and do not recognize another mark as the cut mark.

  • Patent number: 9242499
Abstract: The glue application unit comprises side glue application members which have a pair of scrapers (7, 7) and can engage with the back margins (s) of the book block (P). The scrapers consist of elastic rod-like bodies (7a) and scraping portions (7b) provided at leading ends of the bodies. The scrapers obliquely extending in a direction of movement of the book block from the outside of the path of the downwardly protruding portion of the book block into the path in such a way that the scrapers contact each other in an inverted V shaped configuration. The scraping portions engage with the back margins of the book block by the elastic biasing of the bodies while the downwardly protruding portion of the book block passes between the scrapers.

  • Patent number: 9126798
Abstract: A knife folding machine comprises: a support surface (4) for supporting a lower surface of a sheet (S); a knife blade (5); a pair of folding rollers (6a, 6b) opposed to the knife blade (5) at a fold position with the support surface (4) therebetween. The knife blade (5) is reciprocated between first and second positions by a knife drive unit 7. The first position is away from an upper surface of the support surface, and the second position is adjacent a gap between the folding rollers. The reciprocal movement of the knife blade (5) effects a folding operation every time the sheet (S) is set at the fold position. The sheet (S) is conveyed to the fold position by the conveyer belt (13). The conveyer belt (13) is driven by a first servomotor (11). The control unit (12) controls the rotation of the first servomotor (11) so as to decelerate the sheet (S) before its abutment against the stopper (14) without its rebounding against the stopper (14).

  • Publication number: 20140199136
Abstract: The gluing unit is provided with a sideways glue-applying member which can engage with throat regions (s) on both sides of a spine (r) of a book body (P), and the lateral glue-applying member is provided with a pair of scrapers (7, 7). Each scraper of the pair of scrapers is configured from an elastic rod-shaped main body (7a) and a scraping part (7b). The rear ends of the main bodies (7a) are fixed to a frame (1) on both sides outside the path. The scraping parts (7b) are positioned further downstream than the top surface of a glue application roller (3) in the path. While a portion of the book body that projects downward passes between the pair of scrapers, the scraping parts engage with the throat region on both sides of the spine of the book body.

  • Publication number: 20120238422
Abstract: In the knife folding machine of the present invention it is possible to easily adjust the stroke of the reciprocal movement of the knife blade 5. The rod 10 is reciprocated by the feed screw 12. The feed screw 12 is rotated by the servomotor 14. Thus when the knife blade 5 reciprocates between the first and second positions, the first and second positions thereof are separately adjusted by controlling the amount of the rotation of the servomotor 14.
