  • Patent number: 6565965
Abstract: A metal-organic polymer composite structure comprising a microphase-separated structure from a block copolymer composed of two or more polymer chains which are incompatible with each other bonded in an end-to-end manner, wherein one of the polymer phases of said microphase-separated structure selectively contains ultrafine metal particles arranged in a row or rows. A process for producing said metal-organic polymer composite structure, which comprises (i) the step of dissolving “metal ions” and “a block copolymer comprising one or more polymer chains having an affinity for the metal and, bonded thereto in an end-to-end manner, one or more polymer chains having no or little affinity for the metal” in a mixed solvent of “a high-boiling solvent having the ability to reduce the metal ion and having a boiling point of 80 to 200° C.” and “a low-boiling solvent having a boiling point of 10 to 80° C.

  • Patent number: 5077573
Abstract: Plural images and plural register marks are printed on a photosensitive material with an original plate including an original image and register marks. Two kinds of masks are prepared before the printing: a photocomposing mask for masking the original image and the register marks on the original plate, and an exposing-out mask for masking the images and the register marks on the photosensitive material. First, the plural images and the register marks are printed on the photosensitive material while overlaying the original plate with the photocomposing mask by a photocomposer. Secondly, the photosensitive material is exposed with the exposing-out mask overlaid. Even if the plural images complementary are to each other, the total procedure can be performed easily while using the two masks. The two masks can be fabricated easily on the basis of the shape of the original image and of the positions and orientations of the plural images on the photosensitive material.

  • Patent number: 5042155
Abstract: An image forming member, e.g. a pen or a cutter (for cutting image patterns), which member requires to be lowered onto and applied with a given pressure to a writing surface, is controlled in two modes. In a position control mode, the image forming member is controlled by means of a closed loop circuit by which it is lowered and positioned at a very small distance off of the writing surface. In accordance with a second, pressure control mode, the image forming member is controlled by means of an open loop circuit. With the aid of the open loop circuit the member is lowered and then applied with a given pressure to the writing surface. Thus, accurate and rapid controlling of such an image forming member is achieved.

  • Patent number: 4699370
Abstract: A single sheet is transported from a tray where sheets are stored to the table of a coordinate plotter by a movable device which lifts the sheet by suction from the tray and moves the attached sheet part way to a final position on the table. The sheet is released; the device retreats and then again lifts the same sheet by suction and transports the sheet to a final position on the table.

  • Patent number: 4675242
Abstract: A hard plate such as blank paper board can be held under suction on a table, such as the table of a coordinate plotter, with air holes bored therethrough, by superposing a soft sheet, which includes an air-permeable portion at a desired location and an air-impermeable portion made of an air-impermeable elastic material and surrounding the periphery of the air-permeable portion, over the table in such a way that the air-permeable portion is communicated with the air holes; superposing the hard plate on the soft sheet in such a way that at least the air-permeable portion is covered by the hard plate; and sucking air through the air holes to hold the hard plate by vacuum. Use of the soft sheet permits easy, prompt and sure positioning of the hard plate even if a warp or distortion is contained in the hard plate.

  • Patent number: 4635365
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a coordinate plotter with at least one automatic punching device, adapted to draw a desired picture by shifting a table and an autographic head, which is directed downwardly from a point right above the table, in the X-axis and Y-axis directions respectively. The at least one automatic punching device is provided in adjacent to a side edge parallel to the moving direction of the table and at a height equal to the upper surface of the table so as to form a positioning hole through a sheet laid on the table for drawing the desired picture thereon. The specification also discloses a method and apparatus for conveying sheets to the coordinate plotter.

  • Patent number: 4483527
Abstract: Disclosed is a sheet handling device comprising an unprocessed sheet material storage box, a processed sheet material storage box located therebelow, and a suction device which may be telescopically moved between the sheet material storage boxes and a work table onto and from which the sheet material is to be fed and taken out by means of suction cups provided on the lower surface of the suction device. To keep the state of the sheet material in transit under control, a plurality of nozzles are provided along the suction cups for blowing air along the sheet material. Since the two sheet material storage boxes are arranged one over the other and there is no rail extending over the work table, very little floor space is taken up and the work performed on the work table is not hindered by the sheet handling device.

  • Patent number: 4275573
Abstract: An automatic needle selection mechanism for a knitting machine, comprising one electromagnet for each of needle selectors, and a movable mounting plate for the electromagnets, arranged facing a selector bed. Each mounting plate with the electromagnetic is brought adjacent to its corresponding selector when the selector is in its first position where it is engaged to the movement of the selector bed. The mounting plate is first approached to the selector bed, and then the electromagnet is selectively energized. Then, the mounting plate is moved away from the selector bed. The selector which corresponds to the electromagnet energized is moved from the first position to the second position where it is disengaged from the selector bed, subsequent movement of the selector bed in the longitudinal direction of the selector thereby actuating the selected one of the needles in order to form a desired knitting pattern.
