Abstract: Disclosed herein is a display stand including: a base member having a pair of side surface sections, a front end section, and a back end section; a pair of arm sections; first hinge sections by which respective first end portions of the pair of arm sections are connected respectively to the pair of side surface sections of the base member so that the pair of arm sections can be turned relative to the base member; and second hinge sections by which second end portions of the pair of arm sections are connected to a display so that the display can be turned relative to the pair of arm sections.

Abstract: A cordless type position pointer is provided for use with a capacitance type position detection apparatus to carry out a position pointing operation. The position pointer includes a housing having electric conductivity, a projecting portion of a predetermined shape formed at one end portion of the housing and having electric conductivity, and a contacting member removably fitted with the projecting portion. The contacting member has elasticity and electric conductivity, and is configured to contact the position detection apparatus to point to a position. The position pointer further includes a sleeve having a through-hole and configured to expose, when the sleeve is engaged with the housing, a predetermined portion of the contacting member fitted with the projecting portion from the through-hole thereof.

Abstract: A detecting sensor is provided, including: on a base material, a plurality of first sensor conductors arranged in a first direction; a plurality of second sensor conductors arranged in a second direction intersecting the first direction; a plurality of first signal lines electrically connected to the first sensor conductors; a plurality of second signal lines electrically connected to the second sensor conductors; and a first conductive pattern disposed between the first signal lines and the base material, the first conductive pattern being electrically insulated from the first signal lines, the first conductive pattern being set to a predetermined potential, and the first conductive pattern being made of a same material as that used to form at least one of the first sensor conductors and the second sensor conductors.

Abstract: A pen shaped position pointing device used in a position detecting apparatus. A pen-tip segment has side pressure detectors to detect pressure from side directions. The side pressure detectors detect the pen pressure even when the pen is tilted with a large angle. If multiple side pressure detectors are provided, each detector can have a different function, for example, color.

Abstract: A position pointing mechanism for use with a position detecting apparatus, including a pen shaped position pointing device manipulable with one hand of a person operating the mechanism, a rotatable dial having an exposed periphery moveable along the axis of the position pointing device and located on the pen shaped position pointing device so as to be operable with a finger of the one hand in which the position pointing device is held. Provision is made for detecting rotation of the dial, and for detecting relative pressure between the position pointing device and the position detecting apparatus.
