Abstract: A toner for developing electrostatic latent images containing a binder resin, a colorant, and a lubricant, wherein the lubricant comprises a modified polyethylene wax which is obtained by homopolymerizing ethylene or copolymerizing ethylene and an .alpha.-olefin having 3 to 10 carbon atoms in the presence of a metallocene catalyst and modifying the resulting homo- or copolymer by grafting thereto a styrene monomer and/or an unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer, the lubricant having a hexane extraction of not more than 65% by weight. The toner exhibits release properties at a lower temperature and thereby has satisfactory anti-offset properties without impairing powder fluidity and anti-blocking properties. It provides a toner image resistant against scratches by a peeling claw of a fixing roll part and against rub-of.

Abstract: Disclosed is a dispersion of fine particles of modified polyethylene, which comprises a hydrocarbon organic solvent and fine particles of an ethylene polymer or ethylene polymer composition dispersed in the solvent, wherein the ethylene polymer or ethylene polymer composition has an acid value of 0.3 to 75 mg-KOH/g as a whole and a crystallinity of at least 45% as determined by the X-ray diffractometry and has an average dispersed particle size of 0.3 to 20 .mu.m and a concentration of 15 to 60% by weight.

Abstract: A water-base paint for coating the inside surface of a metallic can, said paint comprising fine particles of a polyester resin dispersed in an aqueous medium in the presence of a surface-active agent, wherein(A) the polyester resin comprises units derived from a dicarboxylic acid and units derived from a diol, the units derived from the dicarboxylic acid containing units derived from terephthalic acid and units derived from isophthalic acid in a mole ratio of from 10:90 to 80:20, and at least 30 mole % of the units derived from the diol being derived from ethylene glycol,(B) the surface-active agent is composed of at least one compound selected from alkylaryl sulfonic acid salts, alkylsulfonic acid salts, dialkylsulfosuccinic acid salts, alkylphosphoric acid salts, polyoxyethylene alkylarylether sulfonic acid salts and polyoxyethylene alkylether sulfonic acid salts, and(C) the fine particles of the polyester resin have an average particle diameter of not more than 3 microns.
