  • Patent number: 6280890
Abstract: A color filter includes at least one blue filter segment, at least one red filter segment, and at least one green filter segment, and has a thickness of from 1 to 2.5 &mgr;m. The blue filter segment is prepared from a blue-colored composition containing a colorant carrier selected from the group consisting of a transparent resin, a precursor of a transparent resin and a mixture thereof, and a blue colorant dispersed in the carrier. The blue colorant consists of a copper phthalocyanine pigment and a dioxazine violet pigment. The content of the dioxazine violet pigment is 0.5% to 7% by weight based on the total weight of the blue colorant. There is also disclosed a color liquid crystal display device having the color filter, and a backlight unit provided with a three-band fluorescent lamp as a light source and exhibiting a specific light intensity distribution.

  • Patent number: 5232634
Abstract: A color filter for use in a liquid-crystal display panel structure, including a transparent substrate having a surface portion, and a multiplicity of filter elements distributed in a predetermined pattern on the surface portion of the substrate, each of the filter elements being formed of a photosetting colored filter composition containing an acrylic resin, a coloring compound and a dispersant. In this color filter according to the present invention, the dispersant preferably includes a derivative of an organic colorant. A color filter according to the present invention may further include a transparent overcoat of a synthetic resin covering the filter elements.

  • Patent number: 4434223
Abstract: An image-forming element comprises a transparent base film, an aluminum film deposited on the base film, and a photosensitive layer formed on the aluminum film and which can be developed with an alkali aqueous solution developer. The photosensitive layer comprises of (a) 20 to 60% by weight of a copolymer of a vinyl toluene and a monoester of an unsaturated dibasic acid, (b) 10 to 70% by weight of an addition-polymerizable, ethylenically unsaturated monomer which is an acrylate or a methacrylate of a fatty polyhydroxy alcohol having at least two terminal ethylene groups and at least one hydroxyl groups, and (c) 0.5 to 30% by weight of a photopolymerization initiator.

  • Patent number: 4433043
Abstract: A water based photosensitive composition comprises a hydrolyzate of a mammal collagen and a photosensitizer serving to cross-link the hydrolyzate when exposed to an active light. The hydrolyzate has a number-average molecular weight, Mn, of 2,000 to 30,000 and an intrinsic viscosity, [.eta.], of 0.060 to 0.155 dl/g in a 0.15 mole citric acid buffer solution maintained at 40.degree.C. Also, the hydrolyzate is capable of maintaining the formability of the collagen fold. A photoresist pattern formed by using the composition exhibits a high resolution, a good dyeing property and a strong corrosion resistance.

  • Patent number: 4419438
Abstract: An image reproducing material comprising a supporting sheet bearing a metal or metallic compound layer having a thickness of 100 to 1000 .ANG. and a photosensitive resin layer, which is characterized in that said photosensitive resin layer contains (1) an ethylenically unsaturated compound which is polymerizable by the action of free radical and chain propagative, (2) a compound showing photochromism by radical mechanism, (3) a free radical producing agent and (4) an acitinic light absorber. There is also provided an image formed (reproduced) material obtained by patterned exposing the above image reproducing material and then processing the same, a method for obtaining such image formed material and also a method for dot-etching such image formed material. By the use of these materials and methods, dot-etching can be effected easily and there are obtained sharp images without the formation of pin holes.

  • Patent number: 4325981
Abstract: A method of preventing color accurate reproduction of a colored pattern with color photocopiers or color photography using photosensitive materials having spectral sensitivity in the wavelength ranges consisting of the human visible range and the adjacent wavelength ranges thereto, comprising, forming at least portion of the colored pattern with a color material having a spectral reflection factor curve with high spectral reflection in at least one of the areas of wavelength below 450 nm and above 650 nm so that a reproduction of the colored pattern is in a color not perceivable by a direct human viewer of the colored pattern. The color material also has at least one high spectral reflection peak or area within the human visible wavelength range so that the perceived color of the colored pattern is different from a reproduced color using color photocopiers or photography.
