  • Publication number: 20060188229
Abstract: According to one embodiment, to implement video objects to be played back by a method different from an existing playback sequence, playlist information which is played back first is recorded when the medium stores an advanced content. The playlist information may be configured to include object mapping information which is included in each title and is mapped on the title timeline, playback information for each title described based on the timeline, and so on. The object mapping information may describe timings on the timeline to be loaded into a playback system for each predetermined information unit such as an application or object.

  • Publication number: 20060177199
Abstract: A design is made for recording and arrangement of application data so as to stably control the behavior of moving picture data based on application data and easily achieve special reproduction of moving picture data. Therefore, moving picture data encoded in a preset format is multiplexed with application data used to control the behavior of a reproduced picture of the moving picture data. Further, the basic process is provided to deal with a first file which contains a multiplexed stream separated by preset units and a second file containing the same data as the application data.

  • Publication number: 20060127051
Abstract: This invention has as its object to provide more colorful menus and to improve interactiveness in contents playback from a recording medium. In an information recording medium having a data area including a management area and object area, the object area stores expanded video objects which undergo playback management for respective program chains, and advanced objects which are recorded independently of the expanded video objects. The management area stores a playback sequence which gives the playback conditions of the advanced objects. This playback sequence can include information used to update the playback sequence.

  • Publication number: 20060098944
Abstract: This invention has as its object to provide colorful menus, and improve interactiveness in content playback from an information storage medium. In an information storage medium including a management area and object areas, the object area stores an expanded video object (in HDVTS) which undergoes playback management by a logical unit called a program chain, and/or an advanced object (in AHDVTS) which undergoes playback control using a markup language. Management information (HDVMGI) in the management area includes information indicating one or both of the expanded video object and the advanced object as the object stored in the object area.

  • Publication number: 20040255038
Abstract: A ROM stores a device name table which holds a plurality of names each including an expression that allows to recognize the installation location of a device and a device unique ID that allows to identify the device. In response to a user request, a control device displays, as a list of choices on a display device, the plurality of names held by the device name table. When a name is selected, the control device makes the name correspond to the device unique ID and stores them in the name management table of a RAM and transmits the name management table to a server connected through a home network.

  • Publication number: 20030115359
Abstract: After receiving a first packet from a personal computer, an access point on a shop side forms a second packet containing the first packet in its payload and transmits the formed second packet to an access point on a head office side via the Internet. After receiving the second packet from the Internet, the access point on the head office side extracts from the payload of the received second packet the first packet that was formed by the access point on the shop side and outputs the extracted first packet to a server computer.

  • Publication number: 20030035399
Abstract: A wireless terminal connects, via wireless communication, with an AP having a relay function between a wireless LAN and other networks. The wireless terminal acquires from the AP configuration information required to configure the wireless terminal to use a particular network environment. The wireless terminal may further acquire from the AP configuration information required to configure particular software applications for use in a particular network environment. When connecting with the AP, the wireless terminal can automatically acquire the configuration information previously stored in a database. The configuration information includes, for example, configuration information required for the wireless terminal to connect with a wired LAN and configuration information required by particular software applications to run in the wired LAN environment.

  • Publication number: 20030031154
Abstract: A device authentication unit authenticates a wireless LAN terminal in response to a request from a connection control unit, and requests the connection control unit to send a device authentication result to a wireless LAN terminal. The connection control unit executes a procedure for device authentication between a wireless LAN control unit and the device authentication unit, and monitors a packet transmitted between the wireless LAN control unit and a bridge control unit. The connection control unit determines whether or not a wireless LAN terminal is already authenticated, on the basis of the MAC (Media Access Control) address assigned to the terminal, thereby transferring only acceptable packets, and braking off the other packets.

  • Publication number: 20020118664
Abstract: Network setups for a plurality of wireless devices are registered together with their priority order, and a connection request is output based on the priority order. If a response signal to the output connection request cannot be received, a connection request is output to the wireless device with the second highest priority. When a response signal to the connection request can be received, an authentication process is performed with that wireless device, and a network setup with the wireless device is established. When a communication with that wireless device is disabled, the aforementioned process is executed again to detect a device with which communication connection can be established.

  • Publication number: 20010056510
Abstract: An electronic method and apparatus for a communication system coupling a target device and a plurality of accessing devices to a bus. One of the plurality of accessing devices requests access to the target device. The target device then acquires GUID data from the requesting device. The acquired GUID data is compared to preliminary GUID data stored in the target device. When the acquired GUID data coincides with the preliminary GUID data, the target device releases access allowing function data to the accessing device. On the other hand, when the acquired GUID data does not coincide with the preliminary GUID data, the target electronic apparatus releases access prohibiting function data to the accessing device.
