  • Patent number: 8081251
Abstract: A plurality of exchange lenses designed for object exposure regions of different sizes can be selectively mounted on the present imaging device. The imaging device determines whether a mismatch state is present, in which the size of the object exposure region of an exchange lens mounted is smaller than the size of the imaging region of an imaging element. If it is determined that a mismatch state is present, an image of a partial region of the imaging region is generated and the image of the partial region is displayed as a live view image in a relatively large area (an area larger than an area for displaying the partial region in a live view display when no mismatch state is present). Accordingly, techniques for performing a live view display with favorable visibility are provided.

  • Publication number: 20050007486
Abstract: The present invention provides a digital camera having an automatic tracking AF function, with shortened time required to re-achieve focusing after focusing becomes unmaintainable, which does not make the user feel strange. In a pattern drive AF control (normal control state), the digital camera performs pattern driving of finding an infocus lens position at the present time point around the latest infocus lens position while performing automatic tracking control of changing the position of the focus area so as to trace the movement of a main subject. When the digital camera loses the track of the subject during execution of the pattern drive AF control (normal control state), until at least predetermined time elapses (subject loss time point), pattern drive AF control (extended control state) is continued.

  • Publication number: 20030156212
Abstract: A digital camera 1 comprises an EVF 22 whose frame rate is changeable. Image data captured by a CCD 41 are transferred to each processing part via a bus line 45. During continuous frame recording of the digital camera 1, the CCD 41, an image processing part 55, a video controller 56, a compression part 57 and a memory card controller 58 respectively perform the respective processing in parallel, and the volume of data transferred on the bus line 45 reaches a peak. Hence, during continuous frame recording, the video controller 56 reduces the frame rate of the EVF 22, to thereby suppress the volume of data transferred on the bus line 45. This lowers a load upon the digital camera 1.

  • Publication number: 20010026683
Abstract: At power-on, a digital camera starts to operate with a display unit off (state S1). At a subsequent half shutter press of a shutter button, a quick return mirror is flipped down and phase difference AF is performed with live view display off (state S3). At a subsequent full press of the shutter button, the digital camera enters an image capture operation. With a quick return mirror in the up position, a focusing lens is moved to its in-focus, front focus and rear focus positions, at each of which contrast in an AF area of predetermined partial portion of an image is obtained for comparison to select a position of the focusing lens with maximum contrast (state S4). Then, image data is obtained and recorded on a memory card (state S5). With the above processing, the digital camera can perform autofocusing, as circumstances demand, by a contrast AF method.
