  • Patent number: 7023641
Abstract: In a magnetic disk drive, a writing element and its surrounding area thermally expand due to the heat generated by a write head coil. The transient phenomenon of such thermal expansion may invoke the transient phenomenon of inadequate writing capacity, thereby causing a writing error at an early stage of a write operation. Control is provided which increases/decreases either or both the write current to be applied to a write head and the amount of its overshoot on an individual sector basis during a writing sequence.

  • Patent number: 7008508
Abstract: For use as a wet strength agent, a water-soluble blocked urethane prepolymer having a hydrophilic group and a blocked isocyanate group is combined with a cationic charge-adjusting agent. The adsorption and retention of the water-soluble blocked urethane prepolymer to cellulosic fiber are promoted by virtue of the cationic charge adjusting agent when the wet strength agent is added to a paper-making stock.

  • Patent number: 7005922
Abstract: In order to rapidly control the gains of a plurality of variable gain amplifiers VGAs, each of gain control circuits is configured to determine a gain to be set therein, based on gain control information received from other gain control circuits existing in its preceding stage or stages and the signal level detected by a level detector circuit connected thereto. By carrying out such gain control, a total application gain is stabilized more quickly by gain control. Therefore, even in receiving systems that the preparation period for reception is very short, desired gain control is achieved within this period and stable data reception can be performed.

  • Publication number: 20040249346
Abstract: A medical needle device includes a winged shield (4) having a substantially cylindrical shaped shield cylinder (4a) and wings (5, 6) connected to the front end side thereof, a needle base (2) inserted in the shield cylinder (4a), and a needle (1). The wings have wing projections (7, 8) and the shield cylinder has through holes (9, 10) on the wall thereof. By overlaying the wings along the side surface of the shield cylinder, each of the wing projections can be inserted into the inner cavity of the shield cylinder via the through hole. Thereby, without requiring a special operation in the sticking operation, each of the wing projections can prevent the needle base from moving in the axial direction and can hold the needle base in the shield cylinder reliably in a state in which the needle protrudes from the front end of the shield cylinder by a predetermined length.

  • Patent number: 6747833
Abstract: The position information of the magnetic head is generated also from the data area to improve the positioning accuracy. The magnetic disk drive has a function of oscillating the magnetic head in the radial direction in the data area at a specific frequency and a function of detecting a read signal during the execution of the oscillation function and detects position information of the magnetic head from the detected read signal. The magnetic head position control can be performed in the data area. The magnetic head position signal not dependent on the frequency of a sampling signal generated from the servo information area can be generated. This in turn improves the data recording density and allows a highly precise position control of the magnetic head, thus improving the reliability of the magnetic disk drive.

  • Patent number: 6734730
Abstract: In order to provide a high sensitivity variable gain amplifier, there is provided a structure in which at least one path comprising at least a stage of the voltage-input/voltage-output amplifier+ a stage of voltage-input/current-output amplifier and a path comprising a stage of the voltage-input/current-output amplifier are connected in parallel between the input terminal and output terminal or, a structure in which a plurality of paths each comprising at least a stage of voltage-input/voltage-output amplifier+a stage of voltage-input/current-output amplifier are connected in parallel between the input terminal and output terminal. A gain is switched by selecting and operating any one of paths. When any one path is selected, an input impedance viewed from the input terminal is suppressed almost not to change or an output impedance viewed from the output terminal is suppressed almost not to change. Thereby, a high sensitivity wireless receiver can be realized.

  • Patent number: 6628193
Abstract: A thin-thickness variable resistor is provided, which is capable of stabilizing electrical connection between metallic terminals and a resistor by increasing the holding strength for a second terminal by a substrate while preventing the bending strain during the bending work from spreading to a conductive portion conductive to the resistor. A variable resistor comprises a substrate, metallic terminals formed in the substrate by insert-molding, and a slider sliding on a resistor formed on the substrate, wherein the slider is rotatably attached by crimping an eyelet formed in a first metallic terminal. External-connecting portions of the metallic terminals are extended from the bottom portion of the substrate to be bent upwardly along sides of the substrate.
