The engine equipped with the supercharger includes a bypass passage which bypasses a turbine of the supercharger. In the bypass passage, a wastegate valve for adjusting a flow-path area of the bypass passage by a wastegate actuator is provided. An ECU (50) increases the flow-path area of the wastegate valve for deceleration to be started during a high-load operation and closes a throttle valve after confirming that a throttle-valve upstream pressure becomes lower than a predetermined value. As a result, the overshoot of the throttle-valve upstream pressure can be avoided reliably.
