  • Patent number: 5082415
Abstract: A fork lift style loading apparatus is provided to improve truck cargo loading and unloading efficiency by allowing an entire truckload of cargo to be set on forks which simply move horizontally into the truck for loading. Loading time is drastically reduced by loading the cargo onto the forks prior to truck arrival. The loading appartus includes a platform lift which adjusts vertically to the truck height, a fork lift body which supports the cargo, and a cargo stand which fits in the cargo bed of the truck. Loading pallets are not required and cargo is handled by the truckload rather than by a pallet load as in a pallet loading system.

  • Patent number: 4700547
Abstract: A method is provided for killing and preserving fish in a fresh state or a two stage procedure. In the primary or instant cooling stage, fish are killed instantly by the shock of emersion in a rapid cooling fluid. This fluid subjects the surface layer of each fish to a temperature below that at which they will be stored. In the secondary or storage stage, individual fish are either passively cooled on the inside by their low temperature surface layer, or else they are cooled inside and out by external means. An apparatus is also provided for this method and is comprised of the following: a rapid cooling hopper to deliver fish into the system, a primary rapid cooling tank to instantly kill fish, and a device connected to the primary rapid cooling tank to discharge fish to the secondary stage cold storage tank.

  • Patent number: 4333612
Abstract: Apparatus for the storage of ice which includes a housing for storing pieces of ice. The housing is shaped in the form of a frustum, is interiorly thermally insulated at least on the sidewall and has a top feeding opening and a bottom outlet opening. The scratching-off device is positioned adjacent the bottom opening. The ice is scratched off and dropped continually downwardly toward a delivery station positioned below the scratching-off device and communicating with the bottom opening, where the pieces of ice are removed. The apparatus may also include a measuring device positioned adjacent the delivery station, with which a definite amount of ice delivered from the delivery station is measured out. Thus it is possible to remove pieces of ice stored smoothly, continually and efficiently.

  • Patent number: 4293250
Abstract: An apparatus for transferring solids is provided with a sealed chamber adapted to suck in and exhaust the solids together with a liquid transfer medium so as to transfer them. Air in the sealed chamber is exhausted by a decompressing means connected to the sealed chamber and thereby the solids are introduced into the sealed chamber with the use of air as a transfer medium. The sealed chamber is connected to a feeding means for feeding the sealed chamber with the liquid and to a transfer pump for discharging the liquid fed into the sealed tank together with the solids out of the sealed chamber.

  • Patent number: 4158418
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved golf ball collector, which comprises a plurality of ball catching wheels on a common axle which wheels are parallel with and spaced from each other so that the distance between two adjacent wheels is slightly smaller than the diameter of golf balls. In front of each of said wheels is arranged one disk wheel which is aligned therewith and which is slightly elevated off the ground and is rotated in the reverse direction relative to the direction of rotation of the ball catching wheels. Means is provided to deliver balls from the ball catching wheels to a container.

  • Patent number: 4075697
Abstract: Apparatus for monitoring two sinusoidal electric quantities of a common period, comprises two similarly timed samplers, an arithmetic unit for combining, in accordance with a preselected relation, three consecutive samples of each electric quantity so as to produce an output signal which is independent of time and phase relations between the sampling pulses and the respective quantities. The output signal may be determined solely by peak values of the respective quantities, phase difference between the electric quantities, and timing period. The apparatus further comprises a discriminator circuit having a reference level and responsive to the output signal for producing a signal for use in monitoring the electric quantities.
