  • Patent number: 11979775
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a communication system that prevents a wireless LAN terminal fixedly installed from performing roaming. A communication system (1) includes: a wireless LAN terminal (10) that transmits first information indicating whether or not the wireless LAN terminal is a fixed station fixedly installed; and an access point (20) that selects, when the first information indicates that the wireless LAN terminal is the fixed station, communication rates including a maximum communication rate and a minimum communication rate from among a plurality of communication rates that can be set in communication with the wireless LAN terminal (10) and transmit second information about the selected communication rates to the wireless LAN terminal (10). The wireless LAN terminal (10) attempts communication based on the communication rates included in the second information.

  • Patent number: 11576113
Abstract: A communication apparatus according to the present disclosure functions as an access point, transmits/receives information to be shared that should be shared with another access point when a radio communication connection has been requested from a first client, and calculates, for the access point and the other access point, scores that indicate priority as a connection destination of the first client using the information to be shared. Then it is determined whether it is necessary to establish the radio communication connection with the first client based on the above scores and establishes, when it is determined that it is necessary to establish the radio communication connection, the radio communication connection with the first client.

  • Patent number: 7657248
Abstract: To provide a wireless system in which a terminal that is shutdown or on in standby can be activated from a remote site in an environment where connection is attested by an authentication server, using security technology for wireless LAN, a different encryption key from other terminals is employed in the communication, and the encryption key is periodically renewed. An access point controls a beacon transmission interval control part by recognizing a terminal activation signal from a management terminal. The beacon transmission interval control part controls the transmission interval of beacon by switching between a normal operation mode and a patterned transmission interval mode. A beacon transmission interval detection circuit of a terminal monitors interval between beacons, and upon detecting patterned beacons, outputs a detection signal. A wireless module receives the detection signal from the beacon transmission interval detection circuit, and then makes an activation request to the terminal.

Abstract: To provide a wireless LAN system in which a wireless LAN terminal that is shut down or on standby can be controlled and activated from a remote site even in the environment where the connection is attested by an authentication server, using the security technology for wireless LAN, a different encryption key from other terminals is employed in the communication, and the encryption key is periodically renewed. A wireless LAN access point controls a beacon transmission interval control part by recognizing a terminal activation instruction signal from a management terminal. The beacon transmission interval control part controls the transmission interval of beacon by switching between a normal operation mode and a patterned transmission interval mode. A beacon transmission interval detection circuit of a wireless LAN terminal always monitors the interval of beacon, and upon detecting patterned beacons, outputs a detection signal.

  • Publication number: 20030115339
Abstract: In a parameter setting system for setting a group of parameters required when a personal computer is connected by the use of a wireless LAN to an object network provided with an access point for the wireless LAN, the access point is assigned with a SSID (Service Set IDentification) code which is a unique code specific to the access point and which is one parameter of the group of parameters. The access point is for transmitting a beacon including the SSID code. The personal computer includes: a SSID extractor (14) for receiving via the wireless LAN the beacon transmitted from the access point and for extracting the SSID code from the beacon; a network connection information file (17) including the group of parameters required for connecting the personal computer to the object network; a registry (19); and a parameter detector (16).
