Patent number: 12044633Abstract: A technique is provided to enable a baggage holder to smoothly place baggage on a conveyor belt. An inspection device inspects the baggage of a visitor using x-rays. A belt conveyor transports the baggage to an inspection device. On the surface of the belt, plural marks are printed at predetermined intervals along the transport direction. When the belt conveyor drives the belt, the marks move in the transport direction at the transport speed of the belt. When placing baggage on the belt, the visitor can easily perceive the status of the belt, such as its transport direction and speed. The inspection device may have a light emitter near the loading position where baggage should be placed on the belt, and the color of light from the light emitter may change to notify the visitor when baggage should be placed on the belt.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 2020Date of Patent: July 23, 2024Assignee: THE NIPPON SIGNAL CO., LTD.Inventors: Kazuaki Takayama, Masaki Takahashi, Takeshi Kitajima, Eishi Kawasaki, Yutaka Hasebe

Patent number: 9869608Abstract: To show an image with minimal sense of discomfort felt by an occupant without quickening an updating cycle of an on-screen image, a virtual data generator making up a vehicle meter indicator device generates virtual data based on an arbitrary engine rotation speed between an engine rotation speed proportional to an image currently shown on a liquid crystal display device and a latest engine rotation speed rather than display data based on the latest engine rotation speed immediately before updating if the engine rotation speed declines. This allows the liquid crystal display device to show the generated virtual data on a liquid crystal panel as a virtual image for updating.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2015Date of Patent: January 16, 2018Assignee: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Takashi Tetsuka, Takeshi Kitajima

Patent number: 9487261Abstract: A motorcycle includes liquid crystal display device with a liquid crystal panel and a back light source, a main controller which receives predetermined inputs pertaining to a current operating state of the vehicle or to a rider's intended operations of the vehicle, and a sub-controller for controlling the back light source. The sub-controller is configured to switch the back light source from a normal output state to a low output state if none of the predetermined inputs are inputted to the main controller for at least a predetermined time period, and to switch the back light source back to the normal output state if at least one of the predetermined inputs is inputted to the main controller when the back light source is in the low output state. The predetermined inputs correspond to the rider's operation of control members of the saddle type vehicle when riding.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2014Date of Patent: November 8, 2016Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takashi Tetsuka, Takeshi Kitajima

Patent number: 9376981Abstract: An injection valve injects a given amount of fuel into an engine in response to an injection pulse. An ECU inputs the injection pulse corresponding to an amount of injected fuel. The ECU inputs information on an amount of injected fuel corresponding to the number of injection pulses to a display controlling portion through a communication line. The ECU produces the information on the amount of injected fuel composed of digital data whenever a given number of injection pulses corresponds to the given amount of fuel. The display controlling portion decides that the given amount of fuel is injected from the injection valve when a predetermined number of pieces of digital data are properly received. The display controlling portion calculates an instantaneous fuel consumption based on an amount of injected fuel thus decided and an operating distance to cause a meter to display information on the instantaneous fuel consumption.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 2012Date of Patent: June 28, 2016Assignee: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Takamasa Nagumo, Yoshiaki Hirakata, Ryohei Kitamura, Takeshi Kitajima

Patent number: 9377648Abstract: A liquid crystal display device of a motorcycle is configured and arranged to rapidly warm up a liquid crystal panel at cool temperatures, without requiring an additional heating member. The liquid crystal display device includes a control unit, for controlling a liquid crystal panel, and a backlight. When the temperature of liquid crystal is lower than a predetermined value, or when it is within a fixed time period after turning on an ignition switch, as a warm-up period, the control unit increases power supplied to the backlight to a larger amount than that in a normal display state, to increase the amount of back light, and temporarily changes the entire display surface to a darker color, in order to increase the amount of light absorbed by the liquid crystal panel, simultaneously reducing the amount of light penetrating the display surface, and thereby speeding up warming of the liquid crystal panel.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2014Date of Patent: June 28, 2016Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takashi Tetsuka, Takeshi Kitajima

Patent number: 7400073Abstract: A motor terminal portion structure is provided which can satisfactorily drain the water in an insulating member surrounding the outer circumference of a terminal and prevent water from entering the insulating member, in addition to allowing the insulating member to be commoditized without being influenced by motor layout. A motor terminal portion structure includes an insulator that is formed in a cylindrical shape surrounding the outer circumference of a terminal and is secured to a bracket. A drain hole is provided to establish communication between the inside and outside of the insulator. A flange portion shields an opening of the drain hole on the outside of the insulator. A plurality of the drain holes are disposed around the terminal. The outer side surface of the insulator and the inside surface of the flange portion are each formed in regular polygon so as to conform to each other. A portion of the flange portion facing vertically downward in an on-board state is formed as a notch.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2006Date of Patent: July 15, 2008Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takeshi Yanagisawa, Kuniaki Arakawa, Takeshi Kitajima
