  • Publication number: 20120182432
Abstract: In an image processing system, a portable terminal obtains positional information and orientation information of the portable terminal and transmits these to an information processing apparatus. An image processing apparatus generates information specifying a process executable by the apparatus itself at the present moment and transmits the generated information to the information processing apparatus. The information processing apparatus stores positional information and functional information for specifying a process to be executed, for each image processing apparatus. Upon receiving the positional information and orientation information from the portable terminal, the information processing apparatus transmits, to the portable terminal, the functional information for specifying a process to be executed by a specific image processing apparatus associated with the received information.

  • Publication number: 20120092715
Abstract: The position and orientation at a time of shooting by a shooting unit of a portable terminal is transmitted to an information processing apparatus. Based on the transmitted position and orientation of the portable terminal and the stored position of an image processing apparatus, the information processing apparatus extracts an image processing apparatus from the shot image and transmits information about the extracted image processing apparatus to the portable terminal. The portable terminal combines the shot image with an option for selecting a function available in the image processing apparatus and displays the combined image on a display unit, based on the information transmitted from the information processing apparatus. When selection of a function is accepted, a screen for operating the selected function is displayed on the display unit of the portable terminal.

  • Patent number: 6256054
Abstract: A photo receptor belt edge detection apparatus by which out-of-alignment of color images which arises from displacement of scanning start positions for different colors on a photo receptor belt of a color image formation apparatus can be eliminated with a simple construction to allow superposition of color images to be performed with a high degree of accuracy is disclosed. A plurality of beam detector signal generation elements output beam detector signals representative of starting of scanning when corresponding laser beams are received. After an arbitrary interval of time after the beam detector signals are received, light emitting diodes of each of belt edge detecting LED devices are successively energized to emit light in a main scanning direction. Belt edge detectors output detection signals till timings at which the light from the belt edge detecting LED devices is intercepted by an edge of a photo receptor belt.

  • Patent number: 6229559
Abstract: An image registration method and apparatus for an electrophotographic color imaging system in which a scanning laser beam is used to create a latent image on a photo receptor belt. The belt, which moves continually in a direction transverse to the beam scanning direction, is also subject to unwanted movement in the scan direction which may degrade the latent image. For each scan cycle, the time the scanned laser beam encounters a selected edge of the belt is recorded, and is used to create a synchronized clock signal for controlling the modulation of the laser beam by the image data. A scan control synchronizing signal is also generated at a predetermined time after the edge of the photo receptor belt is encountered by the beam, to activate modulation by the image data. This assures that each write cycle begins at the same location relative to the edge of the belt, without the need to reposition the belt.
