  • Publication number: 20150116353
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an image processing device and the like that can generate a composite image in a desired focusing condition. In a smartphone 1, an edge detecting section 107 detects an edge as a feature from a plurality of input images taken with different focusing distances, and detects the intensity of the edge as a feature value. A depth estimating section 111 then estimates the depth of a target pixel, which is information representing which of the plurality of input images is in focus at the target pixel, by using the edge intensity detected by the edge detecting section 107. A depth map generating section 113 then generates a depth map based on the estimation results by the depth estimating section 111.

  • Patent number: 8960830
Abstract: An inkjet printing head prints an image on a printing medium located at a printing position facing the printing head, by a printing operation in which the printing head ejects ink onto the printing medium, and the printing head is capable of resuming the printing operation after suspension of the printing operation. A supporting unit supports the printing medium on which the image is printed by the printing head, and an adjusting unit is capable of adjusting a facing distance between the printing head and the supporting unit. A control unit controls the adjusting unit so that the facing distance is greater than that during the printing of a printed image, in case the printing operation is resumed and the printed image moves relative to the printing position. The control unit controls the adjusting unit based on the time elapsed between the suspension of the printing operation and the resumption of the printing operation, so that the facing distance is greater as the elapsed time is longer.

  • Publication number: 20140212065
Abstract: A device is provided that generates a composite image using a first image and a second image having different exposure conditions. The device includes an image input unit, a likelihood calculating unit, an exposure estimating unit, and a compositing unit. The image input unit inputs the first image and the second image. The likelihood calculating unit calculates a subject motion likelihood at each pixel based on a difference between the first image and the second image. The exposure estimating unit estimates an exposure transform function that conforms the exposure conditions of the first image and the second image to each other based on the subject motion likelihood. The compositing unit composites the first image and the second image by using the exposure transform function.

  • Publication number: 20140079333
Abstract: An image processing device that performs image processing on a composite image obtained by merging a first image and a second image having different exposure conditions. A data acquiring unit acquires the composite image and region data indicating a target region of the composite image. A image processing unit performs different image processes between the target region and a region other than the target region based on the region data. The images include a region on which a moving subject is rendered. In the region on which the moving subject is rendered, the composite image is generated by using a pixel value of one of the first image and the second image. The region data represents one or a plurality of regions generated based on the region of the composite image, on which the moving subject is rendered, as the target region.
