  • Publication number: 20040030915
Abstract: In providing services in an environment in which apparatuses constituting a system change dynamically, flexible control of access control is performed for the apparatuses whose access rights and service providing policies are different or have not been set beforehand. In a distributed system where computers each having a function of storing data and processing a program and a communication facility perform data exchange through a communication medium, and thereby perform processing, control of limiting an access to the system etc. is performed as a shared session that is established by synthesizing access rights and service providing policies owned by the apparatuses, and accesses to the apparatuses and provision of services are performed through the shared session, whereby the access rights and the services to be provided are controlled according to a configuration of apparatuses constituting the system.

  • Publication number: 20030211340
Abstract: A silicone rubber coating composition which cures into a silicone rubber having a tear strength of 25-50 kN/m and a peeling bond strength of 30-60 N/cm is suited for coating of hollow weave type air bags. A hollow weave type air bag coated with the coating composition can be instantaneously inflated while the bag prevents the silicone rubber film from being peeled from the base fabric, eliminates inflating gas leakage, and retains an acceptable inflation time.

  • Publication number: 20030154407
Abstract: In a single-sign on system provided, being prevented from centralization of communication load and processing load onto a central system, with taking security and privacy into the consideration, an authentication portion of a field server makes check on an authentication information received from the portable terminal. A ticket issue portion issues a ticket, and then registers it in a ticket DB, as well as, transmits to the portable terminal. Receiving a permission certificate and the ticket from the portable terminal, a service provider portion provides service to the user within an area permitted by the permission certificate, while the ticket issue portion issues a new ticket to be transmitted to the portable terminal, when the ticket received is correct one. A past record inquiring portion gives an inquiry on correctness of the ticket to that field server when receiving the ticket issued by other field server.

  • Publication number: 20030079205
Abstract: If a plurality of operating systems are running in one computer and each of those operating systems has its own managed time, which is different from others, then trace log information items collected by those operating systems and merged in order of their generated times may not be as they are generated actually. In order to avoid such a problem, therefore, the present invention provides an operating system management system with recording means for storing a check point trace in the operation trace information of each of those operating systems, thereby finding the correspondence among those check point traces by searching the operation trace information item of each operating system, then adding such additional information as a time difference, a counter value, etc. to the operation trace information.

  • Patent number: 6216236
Abstract: A computer system has a plurality of processing units (2-1,2-2,2-n) connected via one or more system buses (1-1,1-2). Each processing unit (2-1,2-2,2-n) has three or more processors (20-1,20-2,20-3) on a common support board (PL) and controlled by a common clock unit (1000). The three processors (20-1,20-2,20-3) perform the same operation and a fault in a processor (20-1,20-2, 20-3) is detected by comparison of the operations of the three processors (20-1,20-2,20-3). If one processor (20-1,20-2,20-3) fails, the operation can continue in the other two processors (20-1,20-2,20-3) of the processing unit (2-1,2-2,2-n), at least temporarily, before replacement of the entire processing unit (2-1,2-2, 2-n). Furthermore, the processing unit (2-1,2-2,2-n) may have a plurality of clocks (A,B) within the clock unit (1000), with a switching arrangement so that the processors (20-1,20-2,20-n) normally receive clock pulses from a main clock (A), but receive pulses from an auxiliary clock (B) if the main clock (A) fails.

  • Patent number: 5787464
Abstract: A computer system and method for enabling memory expansion without shutting off the computer system are disclosed. The computer system has a dual memory configuration and supports memory insertion and extraction while being on-line. The memory content of one system may be copied to the memory of another system according to a predetermined priority or after a predetermined delay. Memory may be used efficiently during the insertion or extraction by securing a status management table expansion area in an expanded portion of memory. Memory may be expanded in computer systems that do not have an open memory slot by replacing the installed memory with a memory having a larger capacity.

  • Patent number: 5274808
Abstract: A program replacing method is provided for an uninterruptible online computer system. The computer system includes an auxiliary storage unit for storing a program currently running in the computer system and another program to replace the current running program and a replacement request managing table for storing replacement requests and program IDs of such replacing programs. These programs include checkpoints pre-programmed at selected locations therein. At an optional checkpoint, the replacement request managing table is retrieved for checking whether or not the replacement is requested. If a replacement is requested, the new program is started according to the program ID and the current program is terminated.
