    Abstract: A first sub passage portion and a second sub passage portion are configured so as to form layers on both sides of a separation wall, respectively. A linear passage portion of a third sub passage portion is formed so that a cross section thereof extends within a range across both sides of the separation wall in a direction perpendicular to a wall surface of the separation wall. The cross section is taken along a direction perpendicular to a flow direction of a fluid flowing through the linear passage portion. The separation wall separates the layer of the first sub passage portion and the layer of the second sub passage portion from each other. A first communication passage portion which allows the first sub passage portion to communicate with the third sub passage portion curves to make a directional change and connects a passage wall surface of the first sub passage portion to a side wall of the third sub passage portion by an inclined surface. The passage wall surface is defined by the separation wall.

    Abstract: An object of the invention is to provide a thermal air flowmeter which can reduce a detection error occurring during pulsating air flow due to a difference of response between rising and falling of detected flow or due to air flow dependence of response. A thermal air flowmeter 1 includes a heat-generating resistor 7 which heats liquid, a heating drive circuit 5 which causes current to flow in the heat-generating resistor 7 and thereby controls heating of the heat-generating resistor 7, and a temperature-sensitive resistor 9 which detects a temperature of the fluid heated by the heat-generating resistor 7. The thermal air flowmeter 1 detects a flow Q of the liquid based on the amount of heat of the liquid heated by the heat-generating resistor 7.

    Abstract: To realize a control apparatus for an internal combustion engine having a heating resistor type air flow rate measuring apparatus which can effectively remove salinity adhered to the heating resistor. Salt adheres not only to the heating portion of a heating resistor but also to lead members and supporting members. When a certain time period is passed after the current supply to the heating resistor is stopped, the salt adhered thereto absorbs moisture in the air by deliquescence, and becomes salt water near the heating resistor and the support members etc. Then, suction air flows through an auxiliary air passage by the cranking of the engine to disperse the salt water adhered not only to the support member parts but also to the heating resistor. Thus, even if the heating resistor is supplied with current after the dissipation, salt components do not remain on the heating resistor.
