Abstract: Terminals, printing apparatus, and digital copying machines are connected to one network N. A document managing portion of the printing apparatus stores document data received through the network N to a document data storing portion, and generates managing data of document data so as to be stored in a document managing table. When an error processing portion detects the occurrence of an error with reference to a table during the printing of document data, an error processing portion determines the other printing apparatus for a substitutive printing with reference to various kinds of tables, and transmits document data. A report sheet issuing portion generates a report sheet image showing a name of a substitutive printing apparatus, a current state of the apparatus having an error, measures to remove the error, etc., and a printing portion prints the report sheet image.

Abstract: An image processing system has a scanner for reading image information of a sheet, on which a first instruction for transferring image information of an electronic document and image information of a paper document to an arbitrary program at a first terminal as a single transferred document and a second instruction for starting an arbitrary second terminal for creating the electronic document, together with the image information of the paper document, a function for starting the program at the second terminal to create the image information of the electronic document on the basis of the second instruction, and a function for transferring the image information of the paper document and the image information of the electronic document as a single transferred document to the first terminal on the basis of the first instruction.

Abstract: An information display apparatus having a multiwindow system designed to achieve high speed image drawing without impairing the operability of the multiwindows. In this apparatus, a communication controller sets an exclusive mode discrimination flag when a request to do so is generated by an application program. The displaying capability for all other application programs is then suspended. If another application program then generates a request with respect to window management, the communication controller checks an application program management table. When the result of the check indicates that the request is generated by a suspended application program, the request is stored in a communication buffer and processing of the request is suspended unless the suspension of the processing is cancelled.
