  • Patent number: 7667357
Abstract: A motor includes a shaft including upper and lower shaft members spaced axially away from each other. A shaft connecting member made of electrically insulating material is arranged axially between the upper and lower shaft members. The shaft connecting member is provided with fitting portions to which the upper and lower shaft members are to be fitted. While the upper and lower shaft members are secured to the shaft connecting member, the rotor magnet is integrally formed with the upper and lower shaft members and the shaft connecting member. With this configuration, an axial electric current is prevented from flowing through the shaft by the shaft connecting member.

  • Patent number: 7503704
Abstract: An optical receptacle for an optical subassembly is disclosed. The receptacle includes a sleeve made of brittle insulating material, for instance, a ceramics to electrically isolate the housing of the receptacle from the package for a semiconductor device. The receptacle disclosed has an arrangement that prevents the sleeve, even made of brittle material, from cracking. A portion of the sleeve is press-fitted into the housing, while, the metal stopper is press-fitted into another portion of the sleeve, which is apart from the former portion. Accordingly, the sleeve may be escaped from receiving the pressure from both the inside and the outside at the same time, which prevents the sleeve from cracking.

  • Patent number: 7413352
Abstract: The inventor found that the lightwave of a semiconductor laser includes, in addition to the laser oscillation lightwave, a weak, continuous noise component having a different wavelength (here, referred to as natural emission lightwave). The inventor also found that in the wavelength division multiplexing communication optical system in which signal lightwaves having a plurality of wavelengths are combined to transmit over a single optical fiber so as to be separated at the other end to receive with a plurality of light-receiving devices, the natural emission lightwave causes crosstalk. A natural emission lightwave-blocking filter that reflects a natural emission lightwave is placed on the optical path between the semiconductor laser and the optical fiber. The natural emission lightwave-blocking filter blocks the natural emission lightwave, preventing the crosstalk.
