  • Patent number: 7412907
Abstract: A range recognition apparatus for an automatic transmission. A first contact is configured to generate a first range signal during a state of a range selector being within a first region. A second contact is configured to generate a second range signal during the state of the range selector being within a second region overlapping with the first region. A controller is configured to recognize that a first gear range of the automatic transmission is selected, when the first range signal is present and the second range signal is absent; to recognize that a second gear range of the automatic transmission is selected, when the first range signal is absent and the second range signal is present; and to recognize that the first gear range is selected, when the first range signal and the second range signal are both present.

  • Publication number: 20060240945
Abstract: A control apparatus for an automatic transmission includes sensors, an operating lever setting a shift range of the automatic transmission, an inhibitor switch detecting the shift range selected by the operating lever and outputting an inhibitor switch signal corresponding to the shift range, and an engine control unit receiving informational data signals from the sensors, also the inhibitor switch signal from the inhibitor switch. The engine control unit controls an output torque of an engine, transferred from the engine to the automatic transmission. The engine control unit has a fail determination section, an engine torque suppression control section, and an engine racing detection section, and executes control for suppressing the engine torque according to a speed detected by the sensor when the inhibitor switch is in a failed state.

  • Patent number: 7024298
Abstract: A vehicle is provided with an engine (1), an automatic transmission (2) connected to the engine (1), a detection device (21–24, 31) which detects an operating state of the transmission (2), and a torque regulating mechanism (1a, 1b, 1c) which regulates a torque of the engine. When the operating state of the transmission (2) is in a predetermined drive state and the torque of the engine (1) is to be reduced, a selection is made, based on the operating state of the transmission (2), between a first torque reduction control whereby the torque of the engine (1) is reduced rapidly and temporarily, and a second torque reduction control whereby the torque of the engine (1) is reduced continuously, and more smoothly than in the first torque reduction control. The torque of the engine (1) is then reduced by the selected one of the first torque reduction control and the second torque reduction control.

  • Publication number: 20050251315
Abstract: A controller (1) feedback controls a speed ratio of an automatic transmission (101) based on the rotation speed signal from a rotation speed sensor (26, 27) which detects the rotation speed of the automatic transmission (101). The controller (1) calculates a noise level in the rotation speed signal by adding integral processing and differential processing to the rotation speed signal (S1, S2). When the noise level is less than a first threshold value (Rsh1), the system is functioning normally, and when the noise level is equal to or greater than a second threshold value (Rsh2) larger than the first threshold value (Rsh1), the rotation speed sensor (26, 27) has a fault. When the noise level is between the first and second threshold values (Rsh1, Rsh2), the rotation speed sensor (26, 27) is under the influence of noise, and speed ratio control is stabilized by maintaining the speed ratio without variation.
