  • Publication number: 20040192150
Abstract: H-members (11) each have an approximately triangular shape in cross section, and are controlled to be small in thickness especially for weight reduction. A position for applying a pressure by a pressure member (23) is determined in such a way that a contact surface (27) of the pressure member (23), which comes into contact with the H-members (11), covers a joint (S1) between two sides of each of the H-members (11) having an approximately triangular shape in cross section. The pressure member (23) applies a pressure through surface-to-surface contact, and thereafter, grille strips (12) are cooperatively fixed to the H-members (11). As a result, a tension distribution causing no degradation of a display oscillation property is obtained. Further, application of a pressure by the pressure member (23) causes no partial deformation of the H-members (11), whereby generation of a wrinkle is prevented.

  • Publication number: 20040183425
Abstract: The color-separating electrode structure for use in a color CRT includes a color-separating electrode body which is substantially rectangular in form and fixed in a tensioned condition to a frame made by a sheet metal bending or flexing process. The frame includes two supporting parts opposed to each other, each of the supporting parts having a flexed portion that extends in parallel to an upper edge and a lower edge of the color-separating electrode body and has a predetermined curvature. The color-separating electrode body is welded to the frame at contact portions thereof each of which is in contact with corresponding one of the flexed portions of the supporting parts.

  • Publication number: 20040185744
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a color-separating electrode structure for color cathode ray tube, welding is performed by rolling a roller electrode with a rotation shaft being tilted so that an electrode surface of the roller electrode faces to an inside of a substantially rectangular frame, and by pressing a pressing roller to a portion defined as the portion of an outside of a contact portion in which an outer edge portion of an upper surface of the side of the frame is kept in contact with a rear surface of the color-separating electrode, both the roller electrodes and the pressing rollers being rolled together along the contact portion, whereby the color-separating electrode structure having sufficient welding strength can be obtained with higher stability.
