  • Patent number: 9667976
Abstract: A prediction set determining section selects a prediction set from a prediction set group including a plurality of prediction sets having different combinations of prediction modes corresponding to different prediction directions. Further, a prediction mode determining section selects a prediction mode from the prediction set thus selected. An entropy encoding section encodes the prediction set thus selected, the prediction mode thus selected, and residual data between an input image and a predicted image formed on the basis of the prediction set and the prediction mode. This allows an image encoding device to carry out predictions from more various angles, thereby improving prediction efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20170142442
Abstract: Since the size of a lookup table necessary to retain a partition pattern list is large in DMM 1 prediction, it is difficult to dispose the lookup table in a cache. For this reason, access to an external memory occurs at each time of access to the lookup table, and thus a problem may occur in that a processing speed is lowered. In the DMM 1 prediction, the lookup table for retaining a partition pattern of a first size is deleted, a partition pattern of a second size smaller than the first size is scaled to the first size, and the partition pattern of the first size is generated.

  • Publication number: 20170134750
Abstract: In DBBP, there is a problem because of a large processing amount of a synthesis process in which two complement images are synthesized according to segmentation and a filtering process is executed. A predicted image generation device includes a segmentation derivation section that derives segmentation information from an image; and an image synthesis section that generates a predicted image. The image synthesis section executes a filtering process based on a partition mode and the segmentation information.

  • Publication number: 20170019673

  • Publication number: 20170006300
Abstract: In a conventional art, an output layer set having no output layer is sometimes defined. Consequently, even if the decoder decodes a bit stream to obtain each layer in the output layer set without the output layer, there is no picture to be outputted. There is a possibility that such coded data causes the decoder expecting an output to operate unexpectedly. Output layer sets having the same configuration may be defined. Consequently, the amount of code pertaining to the output layer sets defined in an overlapping manner is redundant. According to an aspect of the present invention, specification of a bit stream conformance pertaining to the output layer set prevents occurrence of an output layer set without an output layer and a redundant output layer set.
