  • Publication number: 20110128579
Abstract: A printing system includes a storage unit that stores printing status information and host apparatus identification information. The printing status information includes a printing status representing whether a printing processing of the print job is interrupted, and the host apparatus identification information represents the host apparatus as a requestor of the print job. The printing system includes a update unit that updates the printing status information based on a monitoring result of the printing apparatus; a job managing unit that judges whether to execute the print job according to the printing status information when receiving a processing request of the print job from the host apparatus; and a printing status information managing unit that decides printing status information to be stored in the storage unit. The printing status information managing unit first deletes, from the storage unit, printing status information on a print job transmitted from a low-ranked host apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20090310175
Abstract: When a printing device is in a state in which a printing process of a print job including at least one print data and a series of process commands from a host apparatus cannot be executed, a printing processing unit transfers a printing right corresponding to the print job that is left unprinted to other printing device. When the printing device is in a state in which the printing process can be executed and if the printing right corresponding to the print job that is left unprinted is transferred to the printing device from the other printing device, the printing processing unit executes the printing process.

  • Publication number: 20080290583
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of sheet feed trays, a tray information management unit, a sheet feed control unit, and an image forming unit. The sheet feed trays contain recording sheets. The tray information management unit manages tray information in which tray identification information on the sheet feed trays is associated with sheet type information on sheet types of recording sheets contained in the sheet feed trays. The sheet feed control unit selects, from among the sheet feed trays, one sheet feed tray containing a recording sheet of one sheet type designated in an image forming request by referring to the tray information, and controls a sheet feeding operation for feeding the recording sheet from the selected tray. The image forming unit forms an image on the recording sheet fed from the selected tray according to image forming data input with the image forming request.

  • Publication number: 20080246994
Abstract: In an image forming device, when a priority of outputting input data determined by a priority determining unit is higher than a priority of in-process data during image expansion performed by one of PDL interpreter units, a PDL control unit determines whether the one of the PDL interpreter units supports an interruption process, and an output sequence changing unit changes an output sequence stored in an output sequence storing unit such that, when the one of the PDL interpreter units supports the interruption process, another of the PDL interpreter units performs image expansion of the input data earlier than the image expansion of the in-process data, and when the one of the PDL interpreter units does not support the interruption process, another of the PDL interpreter units performs the image expansion of the input data later than the image expansion of the in-process data.
