  • Patent number: 4665924
Abstract: Ultrasonic imaging apparatus including ultrasonic transducers for emitting acoustic wave beams of various apertures, apparatus for directing two acoustic wave beams of substantially different focussing distances on the same beam direction, circuitry for receiving the reflected waves corresponding to the beam directions, apparatus for modulating the scanning lines corresponding to the beam directions of the reflected acoustic waves, and apparatus for composing the scanning lines corresponding to the two acoustic beams directed on the same beam direction into a single scanning line for display.

  • Patent number: 4663973
Abstract: An ultrasonic scanning apparatus includes a transducer array made up of a plurality of ultrasonic transducer elements and delay lines connected through individual switch elements to the transducer elements. The transducer array, the switch elements and the delay lines are each divided into two blocks. The ultrasonic echo signals derived from these blocks are summed through the corresponding delay lines. One of the summed signals of both the blocks is applied through a fixed delay line to an adder. The other of the signals is directly applied to the adder. The adder adds together these echo signals.

  • Patent number: 4603586
Abstract: An analogue delay line circuit arrangement is constructed by a plurality of delay line elements and a plurality of compensation amplifiers. These delay line elements and compensation amplifiers are series-connected, one by one, so as to construct a cascade connection. The input echo signals are delayed in the delay line elements and simultaneously the amplitudes thereof abruptly decrease at the high frequency range. The cascade-connected amplifiers can compensate for the abrupt decrease of the signal amplitudes. The delay line elements are constructed of passive elements such as the capacitors and inductors. The compensation amplifiers are constructed of active elements such as the emitter follower transistor.

  • Patent number: 4332171
Abstract: An ultrasonic diagnosis apparatus is provided with a plurality of phased array transducer elements arranged in a row. The number of simultaneously driven transducer elements is changed in response to a rate pulse to increase the ultrasonic scanning line density without increasing the number of the transducer elements, while the position of the focal point is adjusted to maintain the minimum width position of the ultrasonic beam provided by the group of the simultaneously driven transducer elements substantially constant irrespective of the change of the number of the simultaneously driven transducer elements by controlling the phase of transmitted and received ultrasonic waves by means of delay elements.
