  • Patent number: 4521801
Abstract: A semiconductor device, for example a solar battery cell with a semiconductor element and a composite lead wire attached to the semiconductor element in which the lead wire includes a core and a cover overlying the core. The core has a lower thermal expansion coefficient than that of the semiconductor element, and the cover has a higher thermal expansion coefficient than that of the element and a higher electrical conductivity than that of the core. The lead wire therefore has substantially the same thermal expansion coefficient as that of the semiconductor element.

  • Patent number: 4468853
Abstract: A method of making a solar cell has the following steps: (1) Formation of a surface layer including a dopant on a silicon substrate wherein the surface layer has a higher laser absorption index than the silicon substrate. (2) Irradiation by laser of the surface layer to form a junction in the silicon substrate.

  • Patent number: 4463216
Abstract: A solar cell and a method of manufacturing the same are disclosed. The solar cell has a semiconductor substrate having a major surface for receiving light, a p-n junction for photovoltatic generation therein and a thin alumina coating layer on the major surface of the semiconductor substrate. The alumina coating layer includes H radicals and OH radicals.

  • Patent number: 4169182
Abstract: Heat insulating materials having excellent heat resistance and durability prepared from glass-ceramic fibers composed chiefly of crystals, e.g., .beta.-spodumene and/or cordierite and containing 0.1 to 15% by weight of at least one metallic element capable of absorbing radiant heat energy, e.g., Cu, Co, Fe, Ni, Cr, Mn, Mg. The metallic element may be in the form of the metal or an oxide thereof and may be present as a film or coating on the fibers.

  • Patent number: 4104956
Abstract: In radial piston type multi-stroke hydraulic pump or motor having undulating cam surface, said cam surface is constructed based upon an asymmetrical trapezoid torque curve (of torque-phase diagram), thereby preventing the abrasive wear of the cam surface and faulty operations of valve means due to shorter valve switching time and also maintaining the torque constant.

  • Patent number: 4102732
Abstract: Semiconductor device elements are formed in a cavity portion on one main surface of a large diameter wafer, the cavity portion being protected by a frame body formed at the peripheral portion of the wafer. The semiconductor device elements are separated into individual semiconductor devices.

  • Patent number: 4080747
Abstract: A display device having a plurality of base panels. Each base panel has an arm projecting perpendicular to the plane of the base panel. The arm has a flat portion parallel to the plane of the base panel at an upper end of the arm, and slant area at a lower end of the arm. A pin is disposed at the end of the arm to suspend freely a reflecting plate, which moves about by breeze to provide an attractive shimmering effect.

  • Patent number: 4011653
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a semiconductor integrated circuit having insulating gate type semiconductor transistors and protective insulators formed on one side of a semiconductor substrate, the semiconductor elements being connected to each other through electrodes mounted on said protective insulators, wherein those portions of the surface of the substrate which are positioned right under said electrodes are further provided with layers having the same conductivity type as, but higher concentrations of impurities than, said substrate in order to prevent the occurrence of parasitic MOS and in consequence current leakage across said transistors.
