  • Patent number: 5902418
Abstract: A method for manufacturing CRT interior parts made of material such as of iron or steel has the steps of: introducing hydrocarbon and air into a conversion furnace, thereby producing an exothermic gas; cooling the exothermic gas to a predetermined temperature higher than a dew point of the exothermic gas; and introducing the exothermic gas at a temperature higher than the dew point into a blackening furnace which houses the CRT interior parts, thereby producing a blackened film on a surface of each of the CRT interior parts. The blackened film is mainly consisting of Fe.sub.3 O.sub.4. The temperature of the exothermic gas, when introduced in the blackening furnace, may be higher than a boiling point of each component composing the exothermic gas.

  • Patent number: 5488263
Abstract: A color selecting electrode for use in a cathode-ray tube is provided which includes a frame having a pair of opposed first supports and a pair of opposed second supports extending in a direction such as to cross the pair of first supports, and grid elements disposed on the pair of first supports at a fixed pitch and stretchedly bridging the pair of first supports, wherein the pair of second supports and the grid elements are, respectively, made of materials selected such that an average thermal expansion coefficient of the pair of second supports over a temperature range from 0.degree. C. to 470.degree. C. is equal to or lower than 85% of that of the grid elements over the same temperature range.

  • Patent number: 5187716
Abstract: At least the opposing surface portions of the main electrodes of an excimer laser device are covered with materials which are resistive to chemical etching than nickel. The etching resistive material may be a platinum based alloy containing rhodium, ruthenium, iridium, or osmium; a nickel based alloy containing gold, platinum, rhodium, ruthenium, iridium, or osmium; or rhodium, ruthenium, iridium, or osmium. Thus, an excimer laser device is realized by which the lives of the electrodes and the laser gas are prolonged.
