  • Patent number: 8573273
Abstract: A pneumatic tire has a plurality of recesses provided on the surface of each figures of a first indication portion. The recesses are provided so as to extend in the tire circumferential direction and are aligned side by side with each other in a direction crossing the extending direction. One end side and the other end side in the width direction of each recess are formed by curved surfaces of which a center of curvature is disposed at the outside in the tire width direction. Therefore, gradation of brightness occurs on the curved surface on the each recess. The gradation on the each recess changes depending on the viewing direction or the lighting direction. Therefore, each figure in the first indication portion looks three-dimensionally and can become more conspicuous than the other portions of a side wall.

  • Publication number: 20120132333
Abstract: A pneumatic tire includes a plurality of circumferential grooves and a first land portion. The circumferential grooves extend continuously in a tire circumferential direction. The first land portion extends in the tire circumferential direction between a pattern end and one of the circumferential grooves in a shoulder region located outside the circumferential grooves in a tire width direction. The first land portion has first lug grooves extending from the pattern end in the tire width direction and closed without communicating with the circumferential grooves are arranged in the tire circumferential direction. At least one circumferential groove is wave-shaped with a constant groove width in the tire width direction at a tread surface and formed in a wave shape in the circumferential direction at the tread surface and groove bottom. The wave-shaped circumferential groove has a shorter cycle length of waves at the groove bottom than at the tread surface.

  • Publication number: 20110253278
Abstract: This pneumatic tire has a plurality of recesses 22 provided on the surface of each FIG. 21 of a first indication portion 20. The recesses 22 are provided so as to extend in the tire circumferential direction and are aligned side by side with each other in a direction crossing the extending direction. One end side and the other end side in the width direction of each recess 22 are formed by curved surfaces of which a center of curvature is disposed at the outside in the tire width direction. Therefore, gradation of brightness occurs on the curved surface on the each recess 22. The gradation on the each recess 22 changes depending on the viewing direction or the lighting direction. Therefore, each FIG. 21 in the first indication portion 20 looks three-dimensionally and can become more conspicuous than the other portions of a side wall 10.

  • Publication number: 20100000641
Abstract: A pneumatic tire includes a tread that has: land portions formed and segmented by a plurality of circumferential grooves extending in a tire circumferential direction and by a plurality of widthwise grooves extending in a tire width direction; and sipes formed in contact patches of the land portions. The pneumatic tire includes: recessed sections (groove-bottom recessed sections) that are formed in tire-width-direction lateral surfaces of the land portions provided in tire-width-direction outermost parts, so as to connect to the widthwise grooves; and indents/lugs that are formed in bottom surfaces of the recessed sections such that indents/lugs thereof are arranged alternately and continuously in a linear manner.

  • Publication number: 20080149241
Abstract: A plurality of main grooves extending in a tire circumferential direction and a plurality of sub grooves that communicates with the main grooves are formed in a tread portion. A plurality of central land portions is formed in a block shape by the main grooves and the sub grooves, and a plurality of shoulder land portions is formed in a rib shape by the main grooves. A ratio A of a total groove area to an area of a region of a tread development width satisfies 0.25?A?0.32, and a ratio B of the total groove area to an area of a region between the right and left shoulder land portions satisfies 0.35?B?0.45.
