  • Patent number: 7143187
Abstract: The present invention relates to a mobile packet communication apparatus for supplying a terminating service to a mobile terminal and a packet communication control method employed for the communication network. In the case of the conventional techniques, an original side home gateway node cannot identify a path to a destination gateway node from the original IP packet header. It is thus impossible to supply any terminating service to a dynamic IP address mobile terminal. Under such circumstances, the present invention uses a dynamic DNS and a mobile terminal is provided with a dynamic DNS client function. When an IP address is allocated to a mobile terminal, therefore, the mobile terminal sends a DNS update message to the target subscriber node. The message includes a dynamically allocated IP address. Receiving the DNS update message, the subscriber node adds the home gateway node identifier (network identifier) of the mobile terminal to the message parameters to be sent to the dynamic DNS.

  • Patent number: 7123610
Abstract: A node apparatus for providing versatility in routing of IP packets in communication between mobile terminals, comprising a first memory containing entries each defining routing information corresponding to a destination address, a second memory containing entries each defining a header processing rule corresponding to a combination of source and destination addresses, and a routing controller for converting a header processing rule defined in the second memory and for delivering the outgoing packet to an output port according to routing information defined in the first memory.

  • Patent number: 6603975
Abstract: A traffic controller determines flow control parameters regarding a packet transfer in the downward direction based on traffic amount information for each application measured by a traffic monitor, communication quality information in the radio zone collected by a wireless base station for communication with a mobile terminal, and communication quality information of each application collected by a subscriber exchange and notifies the flow control parameters to the subscriber exchange.

  • Publication number: 20020026482
Abstract: A push-type information providing service, wherein a request for setting management information as to information service to a mobile terminal 2 is issued from a service management node 4 for managing a visit location of the mobile terminal to a gateway when the location of the mobile terminal is registered in a mobile packet communication network 12. The gateway 3 requests a push server 1 to start the information service as necessary, and selectively transfers a service information packet received from the push server to the mobile terminal 2.
