  • Publication number: 20040236006
Abstract: A colored composition contains a colorant carrier including a transparent resin, a precursor thereof, or a mixture of the transparent resin and the precursor, a colorant, and an organic liquid medium. The organic liquid medium consists of an organic solvent (a) having a boiling point at 760 mmHg of 100° C. or higher but lower than 160° C., and an organic solvent (b) having a boiling point at 760 mmHg of 160° C. or higher but lower than 215° C. The organic solvent (b) is contained in an amount of 3% to 35% by weight based on the total amount of the colored composition.

  • Patent number: 6228932
Abstract: A fluororesin powder liquid dispersion comprising heat-flowable fluororesin powder, liquid dispersion medium having a surface tension of not more than 45 dyne/cm, and colloidal particles having an average particle size of not more than 1 &mgr;m provides thick corrosion resistant coated films. Preferred colloidal particles for the dispersion are particles of polyether sulfone (PES) which are added in an aqueous dispersion containing an organic solvent and a water-miscible solvent. An aqueous dispersion of PES colloidal particles having an average particle size of not more than 1 &mgr;m is preferably prepared by (1) dissolving PES in an organic solvent capable of solubilizing PES; (2) combining the dissolved PES with a water-miscible solvent which is capable of being dissolved in the organic solvent; and (3) combining water in which there is a dissolved surfactant with the dissolved PES.

  • Patent number: 5968642
Abstract: An article having a water-repellent fluororesin surface and a method for manufacturing the same, wherein the article has a water-repellent fluororesin surface composed of an irregularly porous material which has a maximum IPA diffusion diameter of at least 8 mm and is formed by irregularly stacking fluororesin particles with an average diameter of no more than 40 microns over one another and has a water droplet roll angle tangent of no more than 50/500. The obtained article has a fluororesin surface which exhibits excellent water-repellency, inhibits adhesion of water drops and soil entrained by the water drops and imparts a great bond strength to the substrate.

  • Patent number: 5397831
Abstract: This invention provides a tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) copolymer resin powder composition capable, upon rotational lining, of generating a corrosion-resistant, nonstick film, which is a thick film on a metal or a like substrate, essentially free of gas bubbles, and excellent in adhesion and peel resistance. The TFE-copolymer resin powder composition comprises granules which comprise particles of a TFE/perfluoro(alkyl vinyl ether) copolymer (PFA), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) particles having an average particle size of 0.3-50 .mu.m, and a heat resistant filler. This invention also provides a process for manufacturing the TFE copolymer resin powder composition comprising either (1) granulating a mixture of PFA particles, PPS and a heat resistant filler in the presence of water and an organic liquid, or (2) mixing PFA, PPS, and a heat-resistant filler, compression-molding, and pulverizing.

  • Patent number: 3953412
Abstract: Sintered micro-powder of tetrafluoroethylene polymer having an average particle size of 100 microns or less, a sphere factor of 1.2 or less, a specific gravity of 2.20 or less, and a weight loss on heating of 0.5 percent or less. The process for the preparation thereof comprising atomizing an aqueous dispersion containing 5 to 80 percent by weight of tetrafluoroethylene polymer particles having 0.05 to 0.5 micron average particle size into a gas at a temperature above the melting point of the tetrafluoroethylene polymer and recovering the sintered micro-powder.
