  • Patent number: 10246052
Abstract: A steering lock device for use with a steering shaft includes a lock bar, a camshaft, and a counterweight. The lock bar is moved between an engagement position where the lock bar is engaged with the steering shaft and a non-engagement position where the lock bar is disengaged from the steering shaft. The camshaft is rotated in response to a locking operation and an unlocking operation. The camshaft includes a lock actuation cam that moves the lock bar to the engagement position in a locking direction, and rotation of the steering shaft is prohibited when the lock bar is engaged with the steering shaft. The counterweight is arranged on the camshaft to adjust rotational balance of the camshaft.

  • Patent number: 10017151
Abstract: A steering lock device includes a camshaft including a shaft portion having an axis, a lock actuation cam that radially projects from a first position of the shaft portion in an axial direction, and a projection that radially projects from a second position of the shaft portion in the axial direction; a housing rotatably accommodating the camshaft; and a lock bar moved by the lock actuation cam in a locking direction or an unlocking direction when the camshaft is rotated about the axis when a key cylinder is operated by a mechanical key. When the lock bar locks the steering shaft, the camshaft is configured so that the projection is separated from the shaft portion if a load exceeding a predetermined strength acts on the projection of the camshaft. The predetermined strength rotates the lock actuation cam to disengage the lock bar from the steering shaft.

  • Patent number: 8413473
Abstract: A key system including a mechanical key and a lock apparatus into which the mechanical key is insertable. The mechanical key includes a key code pattern having recessed portions and non-recessed portions. The mechanical key is operated in key manipulation directions. The lock apparatus includes tumblers, each of which is associated with one of the recessed and non-recessed portions. The lock apparatus mechanically verifies the key code pattern when the mechanical key is inserted therein based on whether the tumblers are aligned with the associated recessed and non-recessed portions. The recessed and non-recessed portions in the key code pattern are deviated from the key manipulation directions.

  • Patent number: 8330571
Abstract: A vehicle electronic portable key system including a master key and sub-key. A retainer is arranged in the vehicle to retain the sub-key. A control unit determines whether the master key or sub-key is located in a vehicle interior or exterior wireless communicatable area. When the key is located in one of the wireless communicatable areas, the control unit permits various operations of the vehicle in accordance with the communicable area in which the key is located. The control unit determines that the sub-key is in a lent state if the sub-key is removed from the retainer when the master key is located in the interior wireless communicatable area. In a state in which the sub-key is located in one of the wireless communicatable areas after removal from the retainer, the control unit limits the operations of the vehicle unless the sub-key is determined as being in the lent state.
